1975 Ibanez P-bass. I dare anyone to say their 70s Fender is better, and I got this for $200
Its the younger brother of my Ibby Jazz. If you EVER think of selling that...You know I want it.
I need an 70s Ibby P bass and a ric copy and I am pretty much set for life.Same exact bass as my Ibanez but with a different headstock sticker.
Great basses and thats a killer price.
Oh man that is a crazy good price then. $195 shipped with a hard case, love the block inlays, and man lawsuit deal, totally ripped the Fender Heasdstock shape. I'm not much a jazz bass guy anymore but if it was a Pbass...I hope a doomer snatches it up!!!

Not sure if we're listening to the same new Pelican stuff...I'm not hearing heavy...I mean it's kind of heavy, but not nearly heavy as a 3 U f*ck would warrant.
They lost me when they re-recorded Mammoth and labeled it Pink Mammoth or something like that. But they made it not heavy and more post rock sounding.
That being said, new song tonally sounds good, I like the recording, at least via soundcloud and through my crappy work soundcard.
Mammoth - best song they ever did...one of the reasons I wanted to start playing heavy instrumental music.
I'd like the SB shape with a single P pickup. The PB4 body shape just doesn't look right with the SB headstock, IMO. And, I don't like any other headstock shape they currently offer.
+1 to Lace Nitro Hemi's. I was looking at pickups for my guitarist Nick. He said he doesn't like what's in his guitar, ATM. I was looking at the GFS Dream 90's as a budget option for him. I like the clips I have heard on youtube. Some dude had one in an Epiphone flying V. Sounded great.

We had our best set last night. Worked on Riff City some more. I accidentally wrote this super grove bass line. Show this Saturday with Sawyer Family from Oregon. They kinda have a Rockabilly/blues/punk thing going. Pretty sure with our recent down tuning and heavier riffs, we may not be the best band for this bill.
On a side note, going to start promoting our August show about 50 miles south in Pueblo with two screamo bands. We'll get to prove my theory that heavy is not about chug chugs and crab walking.
He should of taken a pic of where it says MIJ. It's kind of sad if it was a quality instrument back in the day and they are reusing the name today on junky stuff like how they rehash names and put them on crappy current stuff.

Yeah, I'm hoping that Carvin will eventually offer a P pickup option on the B40/50 and SB4000/5000. I'm not holding my breath for that though, they've always been kind of strict when it comes to what pickups they'll do on what basses.
The new songs you guys have been working on sound great man, seems like it's taking off creatively with the new guitarist.
ive played one of those carvin SB4000 at one of the local shops here a few months back. had the lowest action ever, perfect shred bass. i wouldnt use it in my band, but it got that marcus miller jazz bass sound perfectly (and felt better than a J).

It really is. He's pushing me and I'm pushing him. We are a great match. And the drummer is there too.
Yeah, the B40 style option would be my choice. Why did Carvin need a whole new platform for the new pickup, you know? People would have been hella stoked just to have a current model with the option for the P. And with as good a job as they did on the J99's, I'd be hard pressed not to look at their P offering if/when I have the funds for an upgrade.
And how hard would it be for them to get one of their pro players to make a video with it... Carvin, you are slippin', son.
Depends on what options you get. New I think they can run you anywhere from $800 up to like $2500.
Wish I could find one local to play! I've always wanted to try one out.
I like those Carvin neck through Teles and Strat styles, the tele with the three on a side headstock in natural finish with three humbuckers in single coil shape with coil tap would be killer or two big buckers with coil tap, and the hardtail. But yeah I wish they had a Carvin Bass with like Gibson TBird style buckers, Mahagony wood, and neck through in their line. My buddies bolt on passive jazz bass pickup equipped Carvin has a total fast shredder neck too, lightweight, pretty finish, and the pups pound!
may be on the lookout for a used one at some point, but i want one with a maple board. i need a 4 string to do all my soul brother jamz.

that was the one i played, sold for 550, and i played it a few months ago so the shop must have gotten it back and sold it a few weeks ago. awesome bass.
