i have it running into two 612 sunn 2000S clones, made technically by monolith, but not really haha.
I'm getting to the point where the next time I record a full album, I want to go to a proper studio. Just so I don't have to do all the work myself and I can just focus on playing and probably still producing it lol. None of the bands I've been in have progressed past the DIY demo stage. Well, Mental Waste we do proper albums and just have them professionally mastered, but that's kind of a different thing.
At the very least I'd like to rent a studio with an assistant engineer and then mix it at home or something. Just so I don't have to focus on setting up and putting away all the gear and doing all the tedious B.S. parts of the recording.
Pre-approved for more than I expected with a 6% interest rate to boot. Wish I didn't have to wait till Saturday to move on a car. First world problems.
Yeah VEGA trying to DIY record a full length the multiples times we did really showed me how hard it is even with the equipment, software and knowledge. And even when we could get it working, something stupid would happen and poof it would all be gone.

Yeah man, you guys had some hard luck trying to record that stuff.
I've got no problem with the execution, it's just a PITA and a lot of work when you're playing and recording. I have to focus on the recording part a lot more than my own tones and performance, so a lot of times there's a lot of things I wish I had taken more time with or done differently. I always feel rushed to just hammer out my stuff and move on to the "more important" parts. My perception, no one is forcing that on me. It doesn't help that usually when I'm doing that I have one Friday evening, then a Saturday and Sunday to finish everything that has to be done in one go and then clean everything up and put it all away. Since I record in rooms at my work, I can't leave everything all set up on Monday morning. Just means more of the work part and less focusing on the music.
Dude, pics!? I used to have an original straight baffle Sunn 6x12 and I regret selling it so much! I never tried it on bass as I had it when I was just doing guitar. What speakers do you have in there if you're running it for bass? And how well are they insulated? I'm asking because I'm actually considering getting a 6x12 for bass! I recently played out of a 2x12 and loved the sound 12's gave me. I've been tossing the idea of hitting up a custom builder to make a really well braced and sealed 6x12.
Man we were crappy at recording, we always did, find mic > laptop > audacity. Put mic in front of vocalist or in a corner closer to the guitar, then bass then drums in distance, and record all at once, over and over until it was decent.
Jesus, if you slowed it down it'd be an hour and a half long.
...and yeah recording is never as easy as people seem to think it is.
