I have seen the 1810 go from 100 all the way up to 250. If you aren't in love with it (weighs a ton), sell it to boost the old gear budget. The 15" speakers may be repurposed into a different box. Any clue what they are? The pro410 should be a tight sounding cab. I can't say how one would fuzz up, but is there something you don't like about it? If you don't mind the mismatch, I would run the 2-1x15" cabs with the 4-10" if you have the means to do so.

Maybe different suggestions once we have more info. :bassist:

I used to really feel bad about it, and jealous of those that got to go. These days it's the rare show that I feel bad for missing. Hell in the last month I've missed Melvins w/ Tweak Bird and Vitus/Weedeater/Sour Vein and I don't feel bad about it at all.

Dylan Carlson is such a cool guy, got to chat with him for a couple of minutes, if I even made any sense with all the questions mixed with congratulations I bombarded him with. I like it how dudes in these genres are so friendly and down to earth.

Btw Sam are there any vinyls left for sale? Thinking of buying one depending on the cost to ship it overseas.

I LOVE the 4x10 and I got it for a good deal. I will never sell it. I bought it years ago when I was in a Jesus Lizardy Shellacish punk band. I guess I feel like my 15's are lacking, but it could just be tb brainwashing. I really want to try a fearful to see it it truly is THE cab. I also debated a dually. I know a carpenter around here who might build me the cab a a good price if I got him the plans. I don't have a lot of money so bang the the buck is my motto. Right now I am running a peavey road master for my bass head, and I have a Peavey Bass 400series head I can use as well. I also want a single cab for touring. Not enough room to try and take 4x10 and 2 1x15s.

The 1810 is actually my guitarist's cab. It just sits in the closet now.

One of the 15 cabs has an eminence legend 15. The other speaker is an unmarked 15

I think they're 45-105's. I prefer LaBella's but the Roto's are super high tension and work well downtuned. I think the tone would have been very similar with rounds. I actually switched them right before this take. I prefer flats for cleans and rounds for dirt.

The edge is a combination of the overdrive (bass modded tubescreamer with a low mid boost and the lows rolled off) and the scooped sound of the Behringer accentuating the lows and highs.

The Behringer (or a Sansamp) can get close to this tone with any bass and any strings by itself. I justed prefered the Harjt Mullers dirt tone.

I used to buy into the hype that Sansamps color your tone and they sound bad and you should feel bad for wanting to use it.

You know what? It sounds great!

If you want one cab only, consider the TL606 style of cab as they are fairly common. A Mesa Diesel 2-15" would be a versatile enough cab to go boom boom with. What part of the world are you in? Maybe we could get you in with a local music store or help you find something via a local website like craigslist. Also, how much do you want to have to load in/out? (weight wise)

The fEarful/nEarful designs really benefit from the high end speaker. Could they sound alright with a cheap something, maybe. But that's not what they were designed for. Laz might still hang over at that forum. Maybe he has heard of a cheaper woofer being used in a fEarful with success?


What was your budget?

So after looking at basses for the past few days I think I found the 5 string I'm gonna save up for. A Lakland 55-02, its got the maple fretboard, an active / passive switch, and I like the idea of the 35" scale and a MM style bridge pickup. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I actually used the Behringer "Sansamp" and thought the midscoop got me lost in the mix. Its tone is really cool, but I liked my pure amp tone better.

BTW found a crappy picture on my phone, I will take better ones tonight at rehearsall
