Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread 29: "Please Huff Responsibly"

Sold my Long horn bass, to some guy who got a call while he was at my house that his best friend died, that was awkward, when he tried haggling with me.

That's alright. I told everyone that it has 24 frets. Maybe I should leave the guitar stuff to the guitar players. Afterall, 6 strings is way more complicated than 4.
This is what i've been thinking, Red Fang would be a kick ass show, but Om would be the best show ever. PERIOD.
Most gibsons do not have 24 frets, there are a few exceptions mainly the SG-1 / SG-I / SG-X and then a few sig models such as the Iommi SG and the Epi Annhilation V. The Annhilation V also has a phenolic (better known as a plastic resin) fretboard, it's a sick guitar hence the reason it's the only gibson / epi I kept.

You weren't completely wrong, just the generalized assumption was. Oh and six strings players have it more complicated due to more complex chords and and scales, but bass players have it harder in finesse and technique. They kind of even each other out in my mind.
Not doom but "Until The Light Takes Us" (believe that's what it's called) about the crazy black metal guys that kill eachother in Norway or whatever. Entertaining enough.

Those are some rad cakes. I don't get birthday cakes anymore. We spend enough money on the kids.
Along that tangential line, I just watched a doc on Netflix about Roky Erikson and it was appropriately psychedelic and heartbreaking sad. That dude channels what we are in to.
I also play guitar, not much anymore though, and have a Gibson LP Custom, SG Standard and a Fender Strat. I actually prefer the sound of the Tele I used to have, But I didn't like the feel of the neck or the body. The guitar I still play the most is the strat, because it's light and comfortable and it can sound just as heavy with the right tone, but a bit more clear and distinct than my HB loaded guitars. The LP Custom has a BK Warpig in the bride and it sounds like god's balls, but it's heavier than most of my basses.
The guitarists in Cold Mourning both use Metal As Fvck guitars. One uses Jacksons (mostly a neck through V) and the other uses BC Rich Mockingbirds (2 vintage and one of the newer exotic wood ones) and they both use SD Invaders in the bridge. That's just straight forward doom metal though, they don't incorporate any of the "stoner" aesthetic into the band. They know of and like some of it, but mostly stick to classic metal and older doom metal. I'm the only one in the band who doesn't smoke and I listen to the most stoner rock.
I have no themed cakes to share, sorry.
