I have, and I'm 6'5". No real issue, its not like you can sprawl out but you won't get claustraphobia. Just hang out in the diner car and read something the whole time, you get more leg room, and might even find a decent conversation partner.
yea thats a logical way of doing it. I dont think I would want to swing more loans to jut get a gibson since I have enough school debt.

Cool thanks. Toastfuzz, myself, and my girl's youngest brother will be riding up. 4 hour plane rides with those small seats make me pretty spastic so I wanted to make sure I'd be ok on a 9 hour haul with the normal seats.

gold still looks ugly, doesnt matter.
My only issue with Amtrak the two times I used them in the early 2000's was they were late.
You'd hate the flights I took to Malaysia in coach in a chair for 24 hours.
You should be fine, plus unlike an airplane you can get up and move around if your legs start aching. Last time I tried that on an airplane we had to make an unexpected stop at the Miami Airport....

Nah dont worry just personal preference really. Im not a fan of gold color on guitars 99% of the time.

What are your guys tips on "Evil-ing" up a song? We got a tune that's happier than we want but we love the riff.

I wouldn't feel too bad. I only have a high school diploma, so I've been working full time, saving and building credit for the last 15 years. Not to mention I have no other hobbies, I'm really frugal and utilitarian and I have no kids. Of all the priorities that could come over buying music gear, higher education is a good one. Plus, I can't build my own amps and pedals at cost of parts.
Also, buying that guitar was a pure vanity decision. I played lead guitar in a band at the time and it was my "hey, I'm an adult now, I can get a Gibson and a Marshall stack, like a real rock star!" moment. I played it every practice and gig for a year or so, then I left to tour with the band I started and was the primary songwriter for, playing bass and singing. It's sat in the closet most of the last 8 years or so, with a few short runs of playing guitar in bands again. I play my SG way more often, which is vintage, bought used cheap and fixed up mostly myself. Even then, I play my $300 used MIM Strat more than either of them. I think the only reason I don't sell the LP Custom is because I like the idea of it so much. I definitely wouldn't buy a new Gibson now. My opinion of the brand has decreased significantly in the last decade. I still love the vintage guitars, but it's increasingly hard to get anything decent (read: without a neck repair) in good shape for a reasonable amount. Considering how many great instruments are on the new and used market for affordable prices these days, it seems silly now. Hell, even 10 years ago my Epiphone LP Custom was a pretty good guitar. These days you can get something nearly as good as a new Gibson for a quarter of the price. I don't have much interest in playing guitar these days at any rate, unless it's for writing purposes. Bass is way more fun.
That one is nice but I would atleast go for the Agile Al-2500 version for a little bit extra the fit and finish is far superior. This is the one i really want...
Neither am I as far as gold goes, but the combo of the gold top and the natural wood back just looks soooo good in person. And Gold metalflake guitars look really cool under stage lighting.
