Seen both of those docs. Both were good though the Roky one was pretty depressing. Dude is cooked but was never there from the start though
That guitar is my heavy machine. Warpig in the bridge, tuned to B, heavy slap of hog. It's the sledge hammer in my tone toolbox. Not right for every job, but perfect when you need something turned into dust.
I'm either reading this wrong, or there's a really interesting story behind this.

My son's birthday is 3 days after mine so I don't much celebrate mine anymore because so much work goes into his.

I've got an electric guitar that I should probably get rid of. Every time I pick it up and play it, I can't wait to get my hands back on my bass. It just feels so wrong, and I'm kind of crap at playing it anymore. I can still do chord shapes, but I've got no speed or accuracy when moving from one to another.
Still, it's a pretty nice LP copy that I got stupid cheap (it's a Nelsonic, manufactured in Korea and sold in the early 2000s). It's an absolutely cinderblock, too. At least 10 lbs, if not more. I doubt I could get enough for it to make it worth the effort of the sale. I absolutely hate dealing with random people on CL trying to haggle and screw for a cheaper price. I'd rather just not have the money than have to deal with all that crap.

Agreed hard to believe its just a LP, a big muff, and a marshall making those thick ass tones. Their bass player is sick too.

I bought it new in...errr...2003 I think. I took out a personal loan and bought that guitar and a Marshall full stack. I still have the guitar and the 1960B. I barely ever play it though. The last time I played it regularly was when I tried to start a sludge band that got half way through recording a demo, but never made it to gigging. Singer moved, drummer bailed, that's when I went back to primarily playing bass again and stopped trying to start my own bands or be a primary songwriter for a while. That was probably 4 years ago.
damn that sucks. yea a personal loan for it makes senses. I would not buy a new one given how much problems Gibson has nowadays but id pick up an old one if I could. Its nice I could trade a custom amp build for 1 of course.

They've gone way up in price since I bought that and at the time the used ones were way more than a new one. I looked HARD for a black or burst 70s model before I bought it. Given the fact that I had great credit and our credit union was willing to give me a personal loan that amounted to about $100 a month, it was a no brainer. I think technically it's considered a personal line of credit, I've reupped it twice since, after I paid each time off. That's how I financed old recording steup, before I dismantled it and switched over to an all digital home rig.
That's the main reason I almost never buy gear with our personal checking/savings money. I have a pool of funds from gear I've bought over the years and I just buy/sell/trade out of that.
Anyone ever ride an AMTRAK train? I gotta take one from Pittsburgh to NYC and need to know if at 6'5" if the coach seats have enough leg room lol.
