I agree, telecasters rule, my Esquire through my muff into my cranked classic 30 stack is yummy, tight bright clangy abrasive to dark loose and sludgy.
I haven't ever really been able to find much. Aside from what you've mentioned, Slow Southern Steel is around. There are a few "classic album" docs on Netflix that are okay. I'd love to see a set of short docs like the Metal Evolution ones done about sludge/stoner/doom/drone.
I've always like the set of High on Fire (from the "Snake for the Divine" sessions I think) in-studio docs that are up on YouTube. Short, but visceral.
Depends what you're more into. I would go with Om. Red Fang is cool but I would rather see Al.
Well in my experience, the tele bridge pickup is a great setup (hence esquire), the neck pickups I've tried always leave me underwhelmed, I was only happy with my Texas special set which was RWRP with a 4 way switch for series it got every tone I'd need, but I took it out to try eqsuire style and Loved it.
I think added a humbucker to the neck gives you a great range from spanky to thickness, would be great for a one guitar trio, where you cover a lot of ground.

Waiting for the Slow Southern Steel doc to drop. There are a few live set DVD's on all that is heavy, but not much on documentaries. SHSH is probably the best/only thing That exists. Which sucks because when VH1 was talking about alternative and they talked about SST, I so thought they were going to mention some of the other SST bands or even the connection between Kurt/Sunn and the fact the he got the shotgun from Dylan Carlson, but nothing.
In my mind it goes like this, Punk (like the 77' stuff) led to Hardcore (of 79', not tuff guy bs), led to Desert Rock/Experimental sounds (early SST bands), led to Alternative. Of course metal is in there with it's influences on all of it, but that's how it makes sense to me. So to have a doc about Alternative that mentions punk and experimental, but not to mention the Palm Springs scene or DC scene (Wino), is like a kick in the face. IMO, YMMV.
Well I've never seen either, and I'm sure RF will be around for awhile, so I'd probably go see Om just to see Al play. I guess it also depends on who the supporting bands are.
I suppose from a cost and distribution perspective, it is much easier to make web shorts and upload them to youtube. The HoF studio sessions, the Red Fang tour documentaries, etc.

Om, hands down. It shouldn't even be a discussion.
Though, Red Fang does kick ass live. I'm sure you'll have another oppprtunity to see them. They tour heavily.

The Pantera doc's are always a good time. The Bloodhound gang has a good one too. Not Doom but most enjoyable.
Haha I grew up watching those Pantera videos. Absolutely love vol. 3. I've probably watched it close to 100 times.

I just counted 22 frets on the LP and 21 on Tele.
Guess you have to get into modern models for the 24 frets, like PRS
But I know that the Fender has the 25.5" scale and most other brands go with the 24.75"
