It was a joke that kinda backfired. I was learning cover tunes and posted a link to a song I was learning and said it was a machete song 
. I clicked on the link from a different comp and it had a commercial, lame.

I thought about something today while reading another thread. Don't you guys think it is kind of funny how big of a deal people make about what country gear is made in, when we got burned hard by those jacked up MIA Magmas?
Thanks, i hate writing them then having to come up with melodies but their is no one else i would want doing it here in town. And does your Guitar player run his butcher clean? Also how was the working SVT?

Butcher runs with gain and master just past 12 o'clock. Kind of dirty but not fuzzy. He'll slam it with a Fairfield Barbershop to get it into melt down mode, similar to the tone on the track I posted on the weekend. He also uses a rat and an oxfuzz, but his main dirt pedal is the Barbershop. I think every guitar player should try that pedal. It works great on bass too.
SVT was great, it was a '71. It was the rented 810E that took some getting used to. It was one of the darker ones, I really had to turn up the treble to get any definition. The PA had a DI between my effects and the amp, so I left the Dark Driving on the whole time to tame the highs to FOH and smooth out the fuzz. The Bluebeard sounded awesome!

I had a viper bass many moons ago. The SG shape is my fav for sure. I ended up gutting the EMG HZ electronics and dumped some G&L MFD's from a L2000 in it and ran passive. I would buy that bass in a heartbeat if i could get my hands on it now.

Yeah man, people are dumb. Seriously. Gear is either good or it isn't. It doesn't matter if it's from the Crystal Palace or Master P's trunk. The only thing we get gearish about here is effects. I think there's a good deviation of cab manufacturers with our little group. It's not like we are a bunch of guys talking about Sunn and Acoustic all day. We got some custom stuff, some commercial, some budget, some pricey, some SS, some tube, some dry, some wet, some lean, some chunk, some ash, and some balls. I think there is a fair mix of gear that we make work. I am happy to know that my cabs gave someone here some work, but I am not going out of my way to knock people. The only slander I provide is to try and steer people away from things that I know suck from my first hand experience. Of course, I also accept the fact that I might just not be smart enough to operate some equipment and in which case it's user error.
Still haven't even had "The Talk" with the drummer. I have a good friend barking at me to record at his studio too. Times not right yet.
I've seen the band a few times. I liked them when they first came out but deathcore got awful, fast. They have 3 guitarists all with full stacks and you don't hear the bass at all. It is probably super scooped and everything is so downtuned. Josh Elmore from Cattle Decapitation playing guitar was better than all three of Whitechapel guitarists put together.
Bass looked cool to me before I read who's signature it was. I still think it looks like a nice quality bass but who knows if those pickups are any good for anything but scooped and disappearing.
Those kids are probably pretty rich from music though.
