I use my 81' Ibby Roadster (new Dimarzios) and 86' Fender jazz special (stock) for when I want to play more rock stuff like QOTSA. Ric is always set for Doom. The Euro spector P/J is one of my favorite sounding basses. Rex used them on down II and III

I always like his sound lol. Nola was the best sounding album though. Yea I don't think you would like EMG's at all. They're not for everyone

Those amps are awesome! Thats what I tried out the Warwick with that I bought awhile back. I didn't get to crank it to check out volume but man, it had instant, usable tone.

They are sexy as hell that's for sure. The only things wrong with it is that they a just so damn expensive for just a 350watt combo. That and it kind of sucks that it doesn't have the capability of running an extension speaker. It be really cool to swap out the 4ohm 15" for a 8ohm and add a extension speaker jack. Then I could have someone make me a custom 1x15 for the sexist stack EVER!!!

Who is using P/J basses for stoner/doom? Make, model, and pickups?

I do at times. I have a mid-90's Samick 5-string that I've put EMGs in and an EMG preamp. The bass was always very mid-rangey, now it's that plus the EMG growl. I mostly use it as a backup.

I prefer the production on II and III but NOLA was far and away the best, in my opinion.

Thanks for the bourbon boner. That Buffalo Trace is one of my personal favorites.


Also, is it sad that I know all of the brands you've got in there by their partial labels?
