Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 28: Chicken Pot Pie

Good to be back. While we were down I managed to snag an Acoustic 18" cab with a folded horn. Sounds crazy huge with my buddies GK 400RB head at around 1 o'clock. It actually was moving the entire rack on top of it haha. Now the wait for the Sunn is gonna be painful lol

Woo!! It`s good to be back in the doomzz!!

new cab day
That`s a nice cab ya got there!
Man everyone is gigging...I want to be gigging, haven't been on stage for longer than a year.

I feel your non-gigging pain!! It`s been a really long time for me too. It`s even been a pretty long time since I`ve jammed with friends.:hmm:

On a upbeat note....
I got that Oh See Demon from the classifieds in the mail today!:hyper::bassist: So far I`m digging it! Hey Sam,want to share the setting your using on yours?

Last thing.....
I was at Target & Walmart today and I saw these tiny goose neck LED "lamps",about 5-6 inches tall with a clip type base. They`re battery powered too. I was thinking of using 2 of them to stick on my pedal board so that I can see the knobs when I`m adjusting pedals on the fly.
What(if any) do you guys use so that you can see your boards? I`m sure these little led lamps would come in handy on a dark stage or dim practice room(which is the problem I have).

Check out this gnarly wall of sound.

OSD settings: toggle on lower gain/darker setting, volume at 10 o'clock tone at 1 gain at 2 (ric) or 1 (p and j).

'77 ric 4001 -> TU-2 -> VFE mini mu (thanks sam!) -> el oso -> holden 100 (2x KT88s) -> sunn 200s 215

need more power in the power section and a bluebeard. edit: and an hpf-pre

The content of this rig photo makes up for the quality of the picture.

It's a shame that you guys don't get to gig much, because the world of music could do with some more players as nice as yourselves.
I'm lucky enough to be able to play live music frequently, and I have been doing so since I was 13.
Due to the fact that we are at the business end of our last year of high school,we've had to cut the gigs down to no more than two a month-I'm having withdrawals.
In other news,I got asked to MC one of the stages at a local music festival.Do feel a little bit proud.

Ric users that don't use chrome's, what ya using. I'm thinking on trying to find a nickle wrapped SS String. The dunlops kinda have this hollow sound I the Ric and I would like a bit more tension. This is for standard tuning BTW.

I am not a fan of nickel on my Ric but i really like nickel lo-riders on my J. d'addarios are nice too, similar to the DRs. i am using la bella SS on my Ric. going to try rotos next.

I would try roto flats but the might be too stiff and I've tried daddario already didn't like those. Maybe I'll try some DR's. I should try the roto's steels that people used in the late 70's, geddy style. Is that what's your using Sam?

Yup. have them on my P right now but i think they may sound better on the Ric. i have la bella steels on the ric right now.
