My friend uses 2 ENGL Fireballs through 2 412s in his power metal band. I don't think they've ever miced him on stage.
Totally uncool, but the drummer in my cover band just started using an electric drum kit. Cuts our volume in half, and I can stand next to his ride without whincing.
Sounds amazingly good, and he can bash and crash like Keith Moon and still sound as tame as Ringo.
My second passion is mid to high-end audio. I love and protect my hearing as often as possible.
The most stupid loud band I ever saw was Torche in Santa Cruz, opening for Dredg. At the first chord the whole audience took a step back. Even with -20 dB earplugs, it was painful- and we were up in the balcony. I'm not sure the bands always know how loud their sound dude is running them...
I have a bag of cheap plugs in my vehicle at all times. You just never know when you might need 'em.
LOL at most metal lists of anything. One of the amps, #4 or so, they describe as having "character", then go on to say other amps lack said "character."
I need to get into sales. I want to make up fake scales of comparison and 6th sensory features that somehow make you more metal than all your friends.

Yeah, ear doctor. I went to Meg's uncle's office who is an ENT at Passavant. I didn't have to pay anything except for the cost of the ear plugs, but I think that's because of Meg's uncle. I would think any appointment costs could fall under insurance. Technically it's just an appointment with an ear doctor. They tested my hearing and then did the mold for my ears.
On second thought I don't see how they'd charge you anything other than a specialist co-pay visit.

Also, there's some orange tolexed SVT on used GC haha but not sure what the deal is with the price. Typically used they mark them at $1000: Invalid Link Removed

My impression of the Engl. But it sounded so massive. He had it set for one trick pony mode, that's for sure.
i played baritone V through a Engl and it was very nice chugging. Could handle A Standard no problem.
Does anyone want this thing? I have no use for a second amp rack. This is the one that dick Robbie at AoN painted for me.

I'm glad you guys discussed musicians earplugs, been looking into getting some, I'm too young to be deaf. I can already notice a difference, recently I've had to turn my car radio up 1-2 clicks higher than normal to really be able to hear the music clearly.
