MattS that is a great P, I actually have two squier P's I plan on doing the Double P thing too.
Anyone here able to comment on how a bridge P sounds like compared to the typical mid position?

Sonuvabitch! A bunch of torrents servers in Sweden were raided and now the torrent site I was using after Demonoid went down is down, too. Sad day. :'(
Cool project man, the octave string is a nice touch. I don't think I've ever seen green and tort on a bass before, looks cool.
Yeah, I like it a lot more than the first one. It's got more evolution to it. The synth stuff was weird at first (I thought it was an ad playing before the video at first), but it really fits. Really looking forward to the rest of the album.
Also, saw on Facebook this morning that Conan was headed back into the studio to record some new demos.
I picked up a "Baroness" album "the Green & the Yellow", I think the name was, and it was NOT what I was expecting. Pretty not-doom/stoner. Is this the same band?

Unfortunately, yes. That album is kinda weird to me. I was expecting at least SOMETHING heavy, but what they brought was probably the least heavy thing I've heard in a while. It's an OK record, but not my favorite ever.
Yeah, it's their newest. I think "Red" is their heaviest record, although I'm a little more partial to "Blue." They've been trending poppier pretty much their entire career.

+1. havent heard the whole new one but the two songs i did hear i thought were pretty lame. Red, Blue, and their 2 EPs are great tho, highly recommend all 4.
Blue is a ****ing incredible record from front to back. Every track just kills for me.
Before Green & Yellow, I regarded them pretty highly. I still do, but they kinda lost me with it.
I've relistened to Yellow & Green recently. They're not bad records, especially if you think of them as an alternative rock band. They're just much more song and composition focused, rather than riff focused. As albums, they work, but individual songs lose a lot of their heft out of context of the rest of the album.
Musically not very pertinent to the thread, but here's a tonal comparison of the SBMM Ray34CA to my Fender Standard (MIM) Precision. New grindcore project I'm working on, just roughing out some ideas, decided to try out the new bass head to head and see how it sounded. Doesn't really portray how each sits in the mix, as there's no guitars yet.
Both recorded direct, with distortion, eq, cab sim, compression and the whole works added in Logic. Not a dry DI comparison, more of a real world mix comparison, all the same settings on both tracks, with a little volume compensation to make things even.
