Tapes are pure misplaced nostalgia. I've given my rant at least twice in previous threads. It's a demand driven by a group of people who were too young to actually have tapes as their main commercially available musical format. Plus, they don't have to rely on ONLY having that. So they have no idea how much it sucks. They've never had a wobble in the same spot on their favorite song, heard static creeping up randomly because something magnetic was near it or had to fix a tangled, unspooled or broken tape. I grew up with vinyl as a child, tapes in my adolescence and CDs in my teen years and I HATE TAPES. I see the benefit of records, CDs and digital formats. Tape is terrible and I don't think it has any redeeming qualities. The only reason to have one is if you only have a tape player and no one here (or ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET) has that problem.
