The ideal taper for a SHO would be reverse audio, which is denoted with a C (5kC). Thats why the pot works so well when it is wired in reverse. Mr. Vex just used a lin pot in his early SHO because they were easier to get hold of and back in the day reverse audio taper pots were not readily available.
@jerreymcdougal: audio pots do not behave the same in either direction. google up some pot-tper graphs and you'll see why.

So my co worker who is a guitar nerd and often loans me piles of pedals to try was telling me about "The Console", a nintendo like pedal that you put diff cartridges in for different effects. All open source so anyone or any company can make disks for it. Kinda cool idea and Im interested in hearing the final product. Seem to be on thieir way, doubling their kickstart goal.

Who is digging Datura (New Zealand) here? They spitted two LPs in 90s & dissapeared. Just love their simple yet catchy psy. stoner... With time I found myself digging, listening & playing simple music... Less movement, more sence - thats what I really like last years.
Yeah I dig Datura and the bass player's solo project Lamp of the Universe which is really chill music with alot of eastern/indian influence. Check out the album Acid Mantra if you haven't already. I really dig that one.

Anyone care to point me towards the right fuzz pedal for a great sludge/stoner sound? I've got a Bongo 5 going into an Ibanez Sound Wave 100. I'm not overly picky about the sound, I'd just like to hear what you guys think goes best with that setup. I was looking at the ehx big muff pi and the wooly mammoth. The ehx seems a little better for me since its <$100 but I don't know.

You'll find an active bass is a little more disagreeable with fuzz pedals but that doesn't mean it can't be done! Just may require some trial and error. My Bluebeard worked well with my ATK though.
Maybe try something like an El Oso. Very awesome pedal and can be had for around $125 new when Prymaxe Vintage is having a sale.
You don't need tubes! But they certainly are fun. But you can still kill it with an inexpensive solid state rig.
And get big speakers or lots of small ones!
Actually a mastotron would probably be good if you like the WM sound. It has the push/pull knob that helps with active basses. It can be had for under $100 used. You have a really good bass i would really look to invest in a new rig before pedals. Your amp my not like the pedals you put into it.
