Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 82: Comfortable with Derision

The old dimarzio p pickup is one of my favorite pickups I've ever heard. I just sold my 78 fender p bass in favor of a 70's hondo double cut with that dimarzio P. It's hot, clear, and bassy. Works amazing with pedals and drives amps into a great overdrive.

I'm tempted by any bass that has that old white pickup now....they're pretty great.

Can you dig it?

Awesome man, killer shirt design.

Had Warp Rig practice tonight. We started working on new material and strategizing how we want to be writing our songs moving forward. We've all had a chance to listen to our demo a bunch now and all the individual songs are good, but it's a real grab bag stylistically. Which is fine, we got our first group of songs banged out, now we're trying to be a bit more deliberate. We just got an intro to a new song written, but it really helped us get in a good groove for us to all be collaborative and shoot for one cohesive sound.

No, no, no....you "Cyrus".

Help me out bro, I'm trying to start a hip slang term here.

I Cyrus.

Cant we take back porch monkey while we're at it too?

Over-sized pedals are the best. :bassist: Besides the Sublime, I also have a Morley PWB, an old style EHX Microsynth (the big one) and one of those huge Digitech Whammy DTs. I used to use the big silver Big Muff before I got the TFR.
You ever wanna sell that micro synth you guys a bigger right here

Haha, when we first started playing as Supervoid, people kept telling us that they "really dig our music", so we would use an audio sample of that part of that movie before we'd start playing our set live.

Glad you dudes dig the design. I love this artist and hope to use him again in the future. I think we're gonna do a preorder on bandcamp with several style options (likely both the grey and two color designs I posted) to get a good idea of how many we need to order. I'll keep yinz in the loop.
I'm tired of only finding black shirts of cool bands. That shirt is awesome I'd be all about it in a not black color.

Played designated driver last night for a pub crawl. Used the misses Malibu, so, of course someone got sick. It was the worst car puke event ever. Guy in back seat puked all over the front passenger seat and the guy in it. I'm not gonna be able to eat pho for a while. Cleaning puke off of people and a car in 30 degrees at 3 am. Good stuff. Chilling getting the car detailed. Only thing I'm doing today after this is making stuffed cabbage and napping.

Worst. I hope the puker is picking up the bill for the detailing.

Also I got snowed/sleeted here in Texas and forgot to check in, but dually money sent, it's officially on. And thank you Julien for the great ideas I copied off your dually strap and handle speaking.

I am glad you used the ideas. They really make moving the cab beyond easy, even in tight stairwells which was one of my concerns. Did you go with the 3015's or 15PR400's?

Totally had a dream last night of my two piece playing a show, people were cyrusing it, and then I had some major technical difficulties, my Peavey PA200 blew up in a sparkling blaze of doom filled glory. It was awesome and depressing at the same time. But the fact that people were cyrusing it in the dream world gives me hope for the real world...

Man that reminds of the dreaded tooth falling dreams I have had. You wake up abd nervously check that all your teeth are still there, and relax it was just a dream. Is my cab still there...
