Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 82: Comfortable with Derision

Just got back from recording another demo with my band. Singer still can't sing for **** and his lack of talent was only made more obvious in these recordings. The engineer made it his mission to drill that into the singer's head haha. On the plus side, my Ray and new Supercollider are sounding thunderous on the working takes. Looking forward to hearing the final mix next week.

Not particularly looking forward to the vocal lines. The engineer said he'd give us an instrumental copy of the tracks too as a "reference". i.e what to give to the guy who auditions for singing duties after we boot the singer :P

Might be a stupid question but what happened to earthbound? Just a name change?

Yeah basically, not sure why exactly. Maybe Mark was trying to distance himself from some of the negativety that surrounded Earthbound. Some of the pedals changed too. Smaller and simpler probably to make production easier and reduce the wait times. My pedal is supposed to ship tomorrow or Tuesday.

Tubes and Pelican this morning. Australasia never sounded so good.

Invited a friend that's a pro photographer, hopefully he grabbed some good ones

Hahaha that makes way more sense.

The shirt/poster design is killer, Laz. Straight up badass, really.

Any word for a vinyl release? Or....maybe a vinyl and poster combo pack :hyper:? I know you guys are forking the payment for these kinds of things yourselves, which takes time, but a guy can dream, right?

Patience my friend ;) No immediate plans for Filaments to be released on vinyl, but we may have some vinyl in the works nonetheless.

Happy Sunday - unexpected Snow Day!
Good thing we practiced early because I think we finally found a drummer! We've been working on material since last April, and am pretty amped to share. This was the first time we jammed with the dude, but he and my guitarist have played together previously. He was able to get through 2 of the songs.
