Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 82: Comfortable with Derision

Switched over to rain here last night, and all the snows gone.

Here's one of the tracks from yesterday. First jam with the drummer, no vocals. Straight into the H2N

Yeah, been researching that Carvin model all morning in between tests. Depending on how the pups sounded, it would be an awesome bass to swap pickups without butchering a Gibby.

Hoping someone out there has better weather than KC. Had a final exam at 8am and another one at 10am. Plus, there's freezing rain, snow and it's 10 degrees out. I've got a case of the Mondays.

Got about 4 inches of snow yesterday, roads were still a little slick this morning but nothing too bad.

Guitar player got a killer deal on a Peavey ValveKing 100 from GC/MF yesterday. Sold below cost, which seems to be GC's business model these days.

So he should be getting that in the mail some time this week. I think the plan is TightMetal > Clean channel, but we'll see. Either way it should sound good.

I'm still very far away from being able to afford a tube head, so I think I'll stick with the Hartke for a while. It ain't broke, so I'm not fixing it.

Lol I was just researching those Valvekings this morning lol. The attenuator on the back looks pretty useful too. The new model has a 100w, 25 watt, and 5 watt switch. And only like 40 lbs.
