Haha, Yea, it'd probably be a bit overkill in that regard. That's how I'd roll, though ;). All said, it's probably a good thing that acoustic guitar playing, is one of those minor distractions, that I never really cared to persue on a regular basis. Heck, You can only play "Seek and Destroy" on one so many times, before You get tired of hearing it, haha.

If You're looking for an SVT Classic, that sounds about right. If I recall correctly, I think I sold Mine for around $800, and it was really clean. There was a SVT 2 (non pro), in the local CL a while back, that the Guy was asking $600 for, but it was gone before I could get to it. Wasn't really looking for one, but at that price, I wasn't gonna pass it up.

It's funny I play acoustic guitar a lot, but I hate cowboy chords and fingerstyle chording, just so overdone and monotonous/boring, so I am always trying to find new chords or something a bit different, I like to do lots and lots of droning with horizontal scale playing.

You could probably make a decent chunk of that back selling the Orange with that nice headshell.

I've been checking prices on tube amps that are available to me through work. Still out of my price range, but I can dream.

What are the thoughts on the Peavey VB2? Loud enough for low B, a LOUD drummer and a 100W tube half stack?

If I could score a good deal on the CL400 I'd definitely go for one of those.

Yea, My guitar playing doesn't go too much further than the skill level of the first "Mel Bay" book. Honestly, about the only time I really ever played that acoustic, was when I was moderately drunk or under the influence. The rest of the time it was like a wall decoration. I think, I bought that thing when I was going through a classic country listening phase and wanted to learn some Buck Owens or Marty Robbins songs or something. Guess, I gave up on learning the "gunfighter ballads", haha.
You're totally right, though. Cowboy chords do get tiring after a while, doesn't matter which side of the instrument You're on (IMO).

Oh I love power chords on my Tacoma, damn I love that acoustic, it looks like crap because certain years they produced that model they used some weird finish technique, but man that is the sweetest sounding box of wood, sits right in between the bass of a Martin and the Treble of a Taylor, much much better balanced IMHO. And you can get an American made acoustic for dirt cheap because of the finish flaws. And I sanded the bridge saddle down and it plays like butter. I love the hippy jams when it eats Taylors for breakfast.

I had heard that song many years ago, then I bought and played Fallout New Vegas and that song is on the soundtrack. If you play with the in-game radio on for any length of time you'd hear that song over and over and over. It's permanently burned into my brain now.

OH Yeah, El Paso is an earworm for sure. I love classic country, must have picked it up from my grandparents. It's just good music. Most of my vinyl purchases lately have been classic country. Just got a couple of Tom T Hall records last week. I'm way too excited about that.
