Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 82: Comfortable with Derision

Ha, wow. I didn't remember that I started it, but right on.

My rig has changed a bit. Still the SVT and 810, but now it's a G&L SB-2-> Pitchblack->Loopmaster A/B/Y->A clean to channel 1 of SVT, B through an EHX Mole and Joyo Ultimate drive in to channel 2 of SVT.

Might do away with the 2 channel setup though. The Joyo doesn't suck away the lows like other disto pedals I've had so there might not be a reason to split the signal anymore. We'll see tonight!

ALL HAIL THE GREAT CREATOR.(in a brainwashed monotone)

How do you like the mole? I thought it cut too much treble.

Also we require pics now...

If I wasn't saving up for a new head I would be all about that Bari Tele!!!

Seriously it's a good deal. Employees don't get the discounted pricing on blemish stuff, if we did I'd be buying it to flip. Or maybe even keep. I'm not a of fenders in general but this thing is badass.

Ok that's the last of my spamming.

Zachoff, i like your band a lot. Great playing, great tones, the recording sounds good too! Did you guys record it yourselves?

Got shipping for free on the Hondo saving me fifty bucks, not bad. Ordering on monday, should be slaying single coils again by Friday! Humbuckers were fun but I'm in need of some Serious need of vintage face punching fury. Also ive never heard the super collider or the bassman 1200 with single coils.

Next on the GAS list is a sunn 300t or bassman pro 300, also I finally got a reply from sonny, might have a BB in January.... One can wish

Sent back the organizer. Wasn't what I was looking for. Picked up a micro pog from Craigslist $150. So I present pedalboard ver 23.0:

I want a standard wbw or pearloid p guard, but a scpb instead and a second scpb pickup in the neck area. Probably just a 4 way switch and jack.

Then I'll use a chrome strat pickup surround on the neck pickup, and the two 50's style chrome overs one over the standard place and one over the bridge. New p bass with 50's style parts and a a bit ric like too.

Sounds like a pretty cool and interesting plan. I'm definitely intrigued to see it all come together.

I had to think about it for a bit, but I remembered who the ebay custom pickguard guy was. If I recall correctly (been a few years), but I had him do a custom P bass guard for Me at one point, and it came out really nice, plus His pricing wasn't too bad either.

Since we play heavy fuzzed out stuff.... like most people here...... I'm curious as to how you guys go about promoting your band

Lately I've been kicking it into overdrive, trying to get the word out about my band Mass Driver ( https://www.facebook.com/massdriverband ) by sending out cds and MP3's to radio/internet stations. I've also been in contact with some of the local music rags and stores. On top of this I've been doing the usual internet stuff.

What am I missing?

Picked up a pt-jr and the medium sized booster shelf to accompany it. I
My piece of aluminum in a briefcase was cool and compact, but it was too compact as I kept hitting my volume whenever I tried to use the delay, and turning off my demon when I tried to turn on the delay.

I'm probably going to get a more expansive reverb, or maybe other things. The volume, demon, and delay are 100% staying as is. The upper area might move around till I figure out what works best.

Currently it's HOF > DK > MVP > 104M. And then the tuner is always on and running off the tuner out on the MVP.

I'd love to find a horizontal non pedal tuner that I could fit above the moog, just haven't seen anything that seems reliable.

The Mole isn't really worth having by itself, but if you put it before something that sucks the lows from our tone then it's awesome. It doesn't magically put all of the lows back in, but it adds some low-mids (around 200-800Hz) and really fattens up your tone.

Here's the space. It's pretty wide open, but pretty rad and well insulated.
