Eh, I killed one by My own dumbass mistake(wasn't totally killed, but has a very distinct rattle). I hit it with a 2000 watt power amp bridged, preamp cranked/ weird feed back mishap, because I wasn't paying close enough attention what the fvck I was doing, when firing everything up for the first time (alot of hands in sh1t, head under the hood hooking everything up). Made a very loud "Kick drum" sounding thunk and the cab jumped off the ground a bit. All said, one of those $200 lesson learned mistakes.

lolwut?
Oh...THAT will do it.
Lol, it looks to me to be a Matsumoku factory Vantage, Westone, Electra etc. And the pickups look like the old Dimarzios. They have the title as A-Lamb-Bick and they actually have it listed as an Alembic in the info section. I asked them to send me a pic of the headstock, just curious now lol.
It's definitely one of those Matsumoku factory type basses, not Alembic. Just seems ridiculous, maybe someone put a fake decal or something on the headstock and that's why they're not showing it.
I mentioned the taking a friend to rehab story, it's actually a lot more intense and horrible than I let on I just happened to end it in victory, but the past 6 days have been snowed in with final delays and watching over a suicidal withdrawing person that actually made an attempt in my place and I thought they died...
I'm about to start my exams and I'm studying furiously but I did just spend nearly a week in the darkest areas of life saving a person in the worst winter storm to hit in years so should I tell my professor to try and get some slack? My heads still not really in a place to focus on finals as I just had to do things and see things I never expected to in my life.
Good on you for helping your friend. Not sure about the finals as my professor's always felt they were the center of the universe.

I've gone through similar things, it's not easy to deal with and in the end only the person with the problem can decide if they're going to get better. I hope it works out for you and your friend. That stuff is never easy.
As far as the professor is concerned, I wouldn't mention what's been going on. If it's someone you're friendly with and want to mention what's been going on as a separate conversation, then ok.
But I wouldn't bring it up in the context of exams. For one thing, there may not be much he can do in the way of cutting you slack. Second, if he's going to be preparing you for real life/ a career, he's going to tell you that life isn't fair and important **** happens at the worst possible time. Your future employers aren't going to give two ***** what you've been doing in your off time, you still need to show up and work no matter what.
So just study as much as you can, then go in and take your exam. Asking for leeway or special consideration is going to get you nowhere in school or in a career. Remember there's always someone who's dealing with more **** than you are, and that person's going to show up and do what needs to be done, most likely without asking for special consideration.
Not trying to be cynical or a dick here, I've been in your situation and frankly you remind me of myself at that age. So do what you want with this advice, but I can tell you that in a career, most people won't care what you've got going on in your personal life, they'll just expect you to show up and do the job.
I have no idea really. I bought a 1000 watt Hartke LH1000 from a pawn shop a couple weeks ago, and it swiftly burnt the voice coil out of the end-of-the-daisy-chain cab driver.
I did some research and asked around TB, alot of people thought that since only 1 driver blew and it was the end of the chain, it must have been an issue with the cab, either a lemon speaker or a bad crossover.
Despite the fact that my fEARful stack performed just fine for a year, I figured they were right and proceeded to run the same Hartke amp into my 2x15.... within half an hour, burning speaker.
Anyone here have any clue what could go wrong in an amplifier to do this???? The bastard amp still turns on and plays fine at low volume, as soon as you turn it up to playing levels it burns speakers like this thread burns trees. What sucks is even if I take it to a tech, theres no way to verify they fixed it (or did anything really) except to plug it into another cab and hope it doesnt end in smoke.
anyone have experience with DuraTex?
