Yeah, not got into the whole scandinavian thing. I was more into the Florida scene - but then I discovered I discovered Kyuss and FuManchu, chilled out a lot and sold off most of my double-kick metal collection.

Dunno if they're playing anywhere near you, but if they are, totally worth it. Was even worth the two hour drive there and one hour drive back to see them in Sacramento. They played three songs from the new album, "Ball of Molten Lead," "Adrift in the Ocean," and "Atma."

They're doing Chicago on a Tuesday night, but I have class so that ain't happening. Even if I didn't have class - that 3 hour drive home after a show is a long one when I've got work the next day. Oh well. I'm seeing Torche soon, that makes up for it.

Man, that DOD 250 rips! I've heard that it sounds like shvt on SS amps, but I love it on my home practice combo. I love how it sounds dimed, although it probly isn't an overdrive no more :D Oh well, subtle has never been my name. Can't wait to try it out on the big rig at the practice space.

EDIT:
Made a short pause in work for a coffee and a quick jam (pros of working at home), DOD into Mastotron - FACE MELTING WALL OF FUZZ!!!1

To think I wanted to ditch that Zvex off the board and couldn't find a use for it...

In the past four years I have gone through 10 management reorganizations, changing the path between me and the VP of the department. And they wonder why sh!t takes so long to get done...

And on this bawls cold morning, I am happy to have it. And yeah, it was one of Invalid Link Removed, that I got 15 years ago, and has held up and kept me from freezing to death every winter.

If you ever wanted to change where you are, the time is now. Otherwise, you will have to prove yourself and earn the trust of the new manager.

I love my carhart. I grew up in a rural area and they were definitely the fashion, but I wanted a warm durable coat that would last a long time. I am not disappointed yet.

I did - it's an Altec Lansing 1569A - 100W PA power amp. It sounds pretty damn good with bass, though a little under powered. I've been using an ART Tube MP as a preamp and plugging the whole rig into my normal hartke clone 15" cabs. Sounds killer, was able to get a tiny bit of grind out of it when I dimed it and the preamp, but it's designed to be clean and linear. It was loud, but not doom loud.

For that reason I don't see it being a great bass amp, but I haven't tried with any serious bass preamps. I'm going to build a headshell for it once the garage thaws out, then it'll probably be relegated to guitar duties. Haven't really put it through paces on the 6 string because I don't have any guitar cabs.

With the SVT coming in any day now (will it be today? I shaging hope so.) the Altec won't be my daily bass amp, but it's awesome and I'm super pumped to have it.

That's what I remembered. Anyways I'll be wondering what you feel about the difference in a 100 ultra linear poweramp and the 300 SVT.

I'll be sure post my thoughts and maybe record some clips if I can find the time. I have a feeling it'll be apples and oranges, but who knows.

Before the ampeg deal fell into my lab I was thinking about getting a cheap 4x12 and doing the dual-rig thing, with the Hartke amp for the clean/light OD side, then Rat > Some kind of preamp > Altec > 4x12 for the dirty side. Figured the Rat, besides adding distortion, would EQ the signal to make it more appropriate for a guitar cab. Use that low end cut for good...
