Smoove Jazz night at the coffee shop?
Picked up a kinda ruff Black Russian muff yesterday for $40. Had to replace the gain pot. Luckily I had one. Might order some and replace them all and maybe add a dc jack. Anyone do any cool mods to their black muff?
The only thing smoothed out were my brain cells.
another fine spring day, another pile of math homework. Only 3 more days...
Nice, if I were to replace all pots, and add a jack, I'd rehouse it and put the input and output on the right sides. Also get a new stomp swotch maybe. I did as mine had broke. Not expensive and it was a much better switch compared to the old.
Some times I think I miss math homework.
Then I come to my senses.
I have this recurring dream that I have to go back to high school and I didn't do my homework. It's not a pleasant one
Also: I'm seriously downscaling my pedalboard. Got down from 11 pedals to 8. I'll probably kick off one or two more. After today's practice it turned out that DOD 250 covers most of my dirt needs. I don't really need two fuzzes and every modulation built as I'm using like 5 of them in our songs anyway.
On my black Russian, I switched the input/output jacks, added Boss-style power input and added a clean blend. Pretty happy with it.
Another thing about the Yob show.... bass was hella loud... and had what, to me was nearly the perfect overdrive sound. I really should have asked about that, too.
Your bass has a 15th fret?Working the T-45 setup some more. Have a hump the lower frets yet seem to have relief still in the middle.
Heal adjustment was taken to far first shot, been slowly adjusting back to where I was in the first place. I think one more 1/8 turn back and another 1/4 nudge on the truss rod and this thing may settle where I want it.
Playing great until about the 15th fret right now. Getting used to the neck. Need a longer strap for it.
where did you get the clean blend from?
Yeah, doing the same with my board, but don't have quite as many pedals. I started with a total of 8 and an effects loop pedal, and have cut 2 pedals out. I actually recently got rid of my DOD 250. It was a solid pedal, I just felt my dirt was better served with other pedals. I actually preferred the 250 on bass over guitar. What's been nice so far is that I've either been able to sell or use my moved pedals on my guitar rig. My Pharaoh is now my guitar fuzz, and it uses identical settings to my bass! Waiting for the GK 800RB Pedal Sim in the mail for some growl. Right now, I'm using JohnK's Gamma Bass OD for light, articulate fuzzy sounds, and it's great. The GK grind will, however, replace it. That'll give me my "fuzz" (GK grindy) tone, my OD (B3K), and my modulation (combo of phaser and filter after the other tones) and then an Fdeck Series 3 and gate to finish it off. I never really need more than 2 main sounds, with a few parts of modulation for fun, so I've been trying to scale down. I'm finally getting there!I have this recurring dream that I have to go back to high school and I didn't do my homework. It's not a pleasant one

I had the most recent revision from 2013. True bypass and all that. A great OD, but redundant for me. I also have the iStomp, which has a pretty good DOD 250 sound as well. It'll serve me if I ever need it again. The UD and 250 are pretty different to me. The UD is much more tweakable. I still have mine, though don't use it at the moment. Also, I feel the UD can be smoother than the 250. From what I found, the 250 is either on or off. Sure, there are settings that have less grit, but really, if you started to hear grit, it wasn't "smooth". Not that it's bad, I liked its character, but it's a kind of one trick pony. If you like that sound, you can dial it in for all varieties of heavy, but you'll never get it to sound like something else. It'll just be varying degrees of 250 dirt. I found the DOD to do doomy stuff well, but that was really it for me. The UD is much more versatile and sounds better on guitar than the 250. Again, all of this is my experience. I'd still recommend picking up a used 250 if it's a good deal and you're interested. It's not a bad pedal by any means, just didn't fit my needs. Your needs might fit it quite well. Who knows? What DOD 250 are you guys using, and is it very different from my Joyo UD?
Cleaned up my first ever bass I got back over ther summer from a stranger. I really don't need another p bass, so hopefully I can trade it towards a telecaster. Also have an acoustic I don't use, but I feel like selling it would be a mistake.
