Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Since we're posting YT tracks, does ANYONE remember this band? I love 'em...seems like nobody I meet has ever heard of them. Bass player/vocalist Richie Lee sadly committed suicide in the summer of 2001...

ACETONE: "Shobud"

(Dig the sounds of the Mapleglo Ric. Warning: this is very chill music...)

Screw it, I ordered a Saturnworks true bypass single loop with led and volume control for the Tryant. Cheaper than taking the loss from selling the Tyrant and taking the risk of maybe not getting that same sound. Plus the Tyrant looks so FN cool IMO, so there's that too. Now the Tyrant will be always on like Cyrus's safety is always off.

Paging Dr. Jan, Dr. Jan, he turned me on to the them

Yep, you missed by a couple of weeks, I posted York Blvd on here a while back. Squanch approved.

I was working at a record store when that one came out and I listened to the promo first thing every morning for an entire summer into fall. Great band, bummer about the bass player - gives some added weight to some of their lyrics.

"...how long do you go on believing things are gonna be alright?"

Yeah, I think they just kept getting better. One of the bands my wife and I bonded over when we first met (she's a musician too.) We were just happy to find another person who even knew about Acetone.

Had the chance to see them open up for Spritualized around 2000-2001 but we blew it off. Our kids were both barely toddlers at that point. We were too tired to do anydamnthing most of the time...

Yeah, aside from my boss at the record store that introduced me to the band I haven't met anyone else that's a fan. Nearly everyone I've played that album for has become an instant fan, which speaks to the quality of the music. Good poopie, they should have been huge.

And everything I listed this week is sold, no haggling from anyone.

Sold an amp in the office parking lot, took a victory dump, and I'm gorging on free office snacks and espressos while my bosses are out at the gym.

Not that there is anything wrong with it but are you working in the gay porn industry. Cellos, bosses behind locked doors, gym dates? Jk jk

No how anti-Doom of me but the damn thing has so much volume I can't balance it with my other pedals, so it will be in a loop with the volume knob on the looper set to unity with my chain/amp volume. It has plenty of low end, I am shocked he makes a bass version(Altar Bass Fuzz) because it seems perfect to me.

Hahaha yup gay porn. Day one I learned all the foot taps for attracting a senator into a stall.

Nah investment banker firm. So if there's no meetings they kinda wander off.

I just killed all my listings for the Tyrant after I ordered the Saturnworks looper. And of course a guy just PM'ed me, hey you still got it LOL.

I had my Chunk Systems Brown Dog listed, got two offers, decided to keep it. Was also in talks with @mc_muench about selling my Megalith, decided to keep that, too. I'm a hoarder.

Golf. I've had bosses that up and disappear without telling anyone, if the weather was halfway decent you could assume they were golfing.

One guy telecommutes from home and never comes in (he lives 4 hours from the office). That guys always on speaker phone from a golf course.

the guy who hired me is always leaving to go home, or on Fridays doesn't even really come in as he goes and plays with his cows on his ranch. So it's mostly me and one owner manning the fort.
