Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

You know, I had this dream one time, of building a garage that had a basement, with a big electric dumbwaiter to bring stuff up and down. I figured it would be the perfect jam room/studio...secure, soundproofed already, all the comforts of home, no steps to destroy my back while wrestling a cab...

I'd love a big open round room for jamming.
Kinda like this

Actually the opposite. My absentee boss crushed me in my review for 2014, right before going "an extended leave of absence" (aka getting fired). The result is a third year running where I will make less at my day job than the year before. Even though I busted my ass and got a performance bonus of $3800, she issued a management over ride and took that down to zero.

Hence another reason for a second job.

Going in to easter and mother's day is going to suck. Those are the only Sundays we are really open. So I get to look forward to 155 hours over 13 days straight, with almost no OT.

Just reading that pisses me off on your behalf.

No kidding.

@CL400Peavey There's got to be a better place for you man. Considering your education and experience.

Maybe you need to spend some time documenting how The Man screwed you over? Take the fight to upper management?
Losing almost $4k would have me with torches and pitchforks.

Trust me I have brought it to their attention. I have been told that the review sticks. Part of the problem is I have gone through 8 supervisors in the past 4 years. As long as nothing goes wrong, upper management doesn't give a sh!T and doesn't take notice. If anything goes wrong, it falls on me.

I job hunt on a daily basis, and MI is recovering, but it isn't great for any field.

Also I put my boots outside overnight to dry out. 89% humid last night, so... Dumb idea.

My encore dumb idea was to bring them in the house and blow dry them.

Now the whole house smells like burnt rotting catfish.

I only do field work once a week but it is regularly sloppy, excavated land and I am in moisty Virginia so I keep a pair of these el dorko rubber boots in the work vehicle. I need to find shorter height ones eventually so I look less like the Monty Python Gumby's, but they sure help.
