I won't run off wailing like a girl.
I'd like to issue a general apology to everyone here for my off topic rambling. It's just about the coolest corner of any internet forum I've ever been on and, goshdarnit, I've come to think of you people as friends.
I can certainly stick more to gear discussion, which I also dig. I feel like I take away too much from people who have actual gear-related comments and questions.
If anyone would rather I STFU more often, I promise I won't run off wailing like a girl.
I'll just sit quietly in front of my computer out of sight and sound of everyone and sob to myself like a full grown boss man.
Any chuck Taylors gotta be high tops with rubber bands for laces.I had some paisley shirts, since it's confession time and all. I got pretty into that psych revival scene in the 80s. Some called it "The Paisley Underground." Jeebuz. My first bands outside of straight punk bands were heavy 60s fuzzed out rave up garage rock ripoff artists.
But, Docs aside, I always wore lo-top Chuck Taylors. To this day I have a bout 10 pairs of 'em in different colors. Unfortunately, my feet and legs hurt so bad so often I can't really wear them anymore.
Still have two pairs of Docs too!

They's a LOT of stuff that turns me on. I will admit, hearing a full grown man wail like a little girl is one of them.I suggest you dont. Turns @Kawai-chang on hearing that. ...

Hey, I need some advice from you guys.
I recently got more into drone/sludge like Conan and Bongripper from traditional stoner stuff.
However, with my regular .40-.95 strings, they all become floppy rubber strings when I try to tune down to A. Also given the fact that my actions are kinda low, string buzz is crazy.
What kinda gauges do you guys normally use?
For A I'd be looking for .135, you're probably best off buying a five string set and tossing the G string. You'll probably need a setup as well.

Hey If you do widen the nur slots will it negatively effect things if you go back to traditional string gauges?

This is what I'm kinda worried about too because I still enjoy playing Motorhead stuff on my bass.
So about setup... all I gotta do is maybe raising the action? or do i also have to file my nut a little bit? (damn, that sounds wrong in every sense)
Play it one string higher?
