That's where I come from too.
I expect any of you men would step up to protect my kids if some kind of proverbial chit was going down, and I'd do the same for you and yours.
That is one thing that makes my fuse short. You start treating kids wrong, and I'll get all up in your business. Might not win that fight, but I promise winning won't feel good.
It is awesome your kids are cool. Too many these days just suck, I blame the parents.
Right there with you. I have very mixed feelings about crime and punishment...things like the death penalty, for instance. I believe some people do things so heinous they may deserve to die, but my main problems with capital punishment are that there can always be mistakes (innocent people being executed) and I don't like the idea of The State having that much power--to put someone to death. It's more power than they should have, I feel.
But I'm not strictly anti-death penalty either (and I don't mean to start a political discussion.)
However, my ambivalence and my bleeding-heart liberalism end when it comes to people messing with kids.
You mess with kids, then "Bye-bye @$$hole" is all I have to say. Sorry if you were mistreated yourself as a child, sorry you couldn't control yourself, whatever. You revoke your humanity and no longer get to breath the same air as the rest of us.
I worked child welfare in Oklahoma City for more than two years. Hardest job I ever had. Some of the things I saw...I can't even talk to people about them...too brutal. Just have to take them to my grave.
I can tell you: it's hard to remain dispassionate and professional when you are sitting across from some scumbag and there's a toddler in the room with cigarette burns all over.
Really hard not to leap across a coffee table and choke a fvcker out.
I wish I could take more credit. All we ever did was love them and try to give them options.; I have always told those girls there's not much more powerful on this earth than a strong woman and they must kick the crap out of anyone who ever tries to treat them like second class citizens. They take no BS.
Older daughter plays bass and guitar. Younger daughter is an aspiring drummer, though we need to get her a set of her own.
Both are more naturally talented than me, but my wife is classically trained and an incredible musician on multiple instruments. It's probably her genetic gift to them.
Challenge accepted.THE TRUST GAME...
I don't believe I have ever posted pics of any of my family members anywhere on the internet. Certainly not on any musician's forums. I have seen the messy end results of that.
But my older daughter posts about 163 pics of herself every day on FaceBlech anyway. My younger daughter is a lot more private and prolly wouldn't appreciate it, but here's Doom Daughter #1, because she's a beautiful girl, so awesomely cool, and I am so proud of her.
Don't make me regret this, you heathens:

Same here, 2.5 years working at a level 4 State Pen, no kumbaya poopie coming from me, probably make good fertilizer...
Just got the call, indoor water park tonight, guess I better trim my bikini lines...
Oh jeez, man. My best friend (now down in E. Texas) was a prison guard at Lexington (Oklahoma max security) for a couple of years and the stories he told me...just damn.
Do it like a man. Use your teeth.
Yeah I went from a mail inspector to a guard, did it for a while but it wasn't for me. That gate slamming behind me and spending all day with scummers, and sometimes just pure evil, wasn't my thing.
Be on the lookout for this suspect, last seen driving a late model white windowless van.
