Mentally preparing myself for another week of work, and listening to tonight's YT find:
Nick already chimed in, but yeah it's 2-4-8-16, the angle just had the knob blocking the 2. The black stain came out looking super nice, can't wait to get it.

All these are my Carvin PB4 straight through the pedal into my GK MB800, set fairly clean.
Precisely why I'm modding the input cap for no low end loss! I love the grind, hate the low end loss. I've gotten a similar sound on my American, but still can't quite get the 250 grind. I figured I could make one for cheap, and the American is versatile enough that I'll find plenty of other sounds in it.
another random question - my stereo cable is a noisy pain in the arse. if i get a cable made out of a microphone cable, am i going to run into any issues with impedance or high end loss? i have an LS-2 at the other end so volume drop can be made up, but i'm concerned that perhaps it'll make the fuzzes sound different - especially the cthulhu fuzz which changes tone if you roll back your volume even the tiniest amount.

stereo cable from the TRS out on the rick, split out to two mono jacks at the end
neck -> bluebeard -> LS-2
bridge -> cthulhu -> LS-2
LS-2 -> tuner -> RAT King
ADAM is powering everything, no noise from the board itself.
the stereo cable i've had made is noisy only when i move, if i "whip" the cable it makes that classic microphonic crackle/boom. everything is dead silent if i'm standing still.
Do you guys reckon a clean blend is totally necessary for a fuzz?

I find with the bass big muff that I can get a lot more muscle and articulation with the clean blend and dial in whatever kind of fuzz I want to cut through the mix.
No. I've found that it's completely dependent on the fuzz. My BMP needed a clean blend, but didn't have one, so the cleans were gone and the fuzz got lost in the mix. The MXR BFD had plenty of clean blend, but then the fuzz got lost in the mix and all you heard was clean bass. So far, my Pharaoh does great without a blend, as does my GK 800RB Power Amp Sim pedal (which I use for a "fuzz" setting). I'd say the biggest thing is to get a fuzz that's articulate, so that it reproduces the bass AND distortion well enough to punch through the mix. Good luck in the fuzz hunt!

Yea, but with the clean blend on if you turn up the fuzz it gets uncontrollably loud
