Does anyone know how to tell what kind of adapter a pedal may need? I have an odd problem: a few years back i was on another forum and someone I barely knew offered to send me a fuzz pedal he made. It looks nice but he didn't put in a battery compartment.

He told me what kind of adapter it needed in a PM but I've long forgotten.

That forum was revamped and i lost my ability to log in or get my PMs.

I've tried several adapters with no luck.

Is there a way to figure this out other than taking it somewhere to try every amp volt combination ever made?

If you have a 1Spot, they have plenty of different adapters to try. Maybe one of them works?

yup. i was in the store (shady pawn shop) and played it a bit earlier, it's nice, but they want way more than i'd ever spend on it. But this shop has had a MIM Jazz sitting on the wall for at least 4 years, and they won't drop the price, so fvck 'em

yar, it's a nifty little hamlet, but the Hanson Brothers pretty much nailed it many moons ago...

Good band practice tonight. I got some backing vox tracked for an upcoming single release; was nice to get those out of the way b/c they were high-high-high parts and a pain in the azz. Then we ran through our rejiggered setlist and it seemed to flow well. Got a gig this Friday in the Captial City.

About six mos. ago, I lent my guitarist my Fuzzrocious Ram the Manparts and got it back tonight. Immediately fell back in lust with its glitchy, gated tones. Not very practical for live use but it'll come in handy for recording.

I friggin love those. I think they look tough as hell. Played a few but it's been years. My recollection is they are heavy and solid as a tank. Mucho sound options.

I believe the Magnum I and III were passive and the II and IV were active.

This is one of those out-of-production basses from that era I would kill to have.

On edit: I think maybe only the Magnum I was passive. Been a long time since I've even seen any in the wild. The IIIs and IVs also had a different body shape.

I think some Fuzz Faces/Benders have positive polarity and require an adapter that matches that. Like Klein said the 1Spots have an adapter for it.

I've never even heard of 1Spots, but then the town I'm in is stuck in 1978. Next time i hit OKC I'll check into it.

I've taken the thing to Goodwill and tried a dozen different plugs.

Hopefully someday this thing will be more than a paperweight.

So last Saturday at the not-Solstafir show I hung out with my old drummer. We talked about me playing bass for his rock band, they want to take it in a more stonerly direction, would I still be interested. I said yes.

Then this morning I got a text from the new drummer asking if I'd like to play bass in his other band, which more of the bouncy stoner variety.

Got to diddle the Blueberry more last night after getting the action straight on the Jazzguarbird. Pretty cool pedal and it plays well with other pedals too. Running the Idotbox Ron Swanson Super Fuzz or the Nine of Swords Tyrant Fuzz into was awesome, rounded them out somehow, made them less harsh but still cranked the gain. Blueberry into the Joyo American Dream was cool too, only problem is if I added a Fuzz to those together then it was too much input I guess and then clipping/farting out some. I need to add the Hellcat back to the chain and see how it plays with a Rat clone. That touch sensitivity is really wild on the Blueberry, reminds me of envelope filters but with dirt instead.

I use one spots but maybe that positive end would work on any old pedal adapter you have?

Not to derail the Magnums, which I contend are hot, but here is another no-longer-made 70s bass that I always thought was badass. They came with a few different pickup options and I played several of them back in the day (like the Magnum I never owned one.)

I've seen them in this color, a more SG-looking trans red, natural, black, tobacco burst and off white.

I've always wanted one of these. Sometimes it's cool being an old guy just because it was easier to find and play stuff like this back then and the collector's market hadn't gone apesh!t.
