Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Struggling to remain professional today. Was just in a meeting where someone was asking me questions, and then proceeded to interrupt me halfway through each sentence. I started snapping my fingers at them when they were doing it.
"It is rude to snap your fingers at me."
"It is also rude to interrupt me when I am trying to answer your question."

What I wanted to say was more along the lines of, "If you are going to act like a disobedient b!tch (dog) then I will treat you as such."
Maybe these long hours are testing your patience....

Good on you, like I said on FB, I am now referring to you as the Arsehole Whisperer!!!

That doesnt help, but I hate being interrupted. It means the other party isnt listening to what I am saying, and just waiting to respond with a preformed response. Why am I wasting my time if they dont actually want to hear what I have to say? My grandpa once told me, if you are having a conversation with two other people, you need to listen twice, and speak once. I find that hold true in larger groups, and the more I listen, the more the works I speak matter.

Too many dickfaces just wanting to hear themselves talk around here.

"Dont make me go Cesar on you!"

I hate that. There's a couple of individuals here that love to ask questions then talk over my response. Why am I in this meeting if jerk-bag over here isn't going to let me speak.

Same crap just happened to my boss in a meeting that she was to be asked to be part of and the person who wanted her there asked her questions then talked over her answers. She don't curse much but she refers to him as Dick now instead of Derek.

My other recourse is to just stop talking and stare at them and wait for them to finish speaking. Then pick back up mid sentence where I was and finish my thought.

I prefer the snapping fingers as that is bad arse but if you use the wait for them to finish you should make a loud game show buzzer wrong sound before you proceed.

I couldn't agree more. Though I do hope your coworkers don't get butthurt and run to HR.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I do. Certain people won't get the hint and continue to interrupt. That's usually met with a comment along the lines of: "Well, Bob here seems to have all of the answers, I'll be in my cubicle if you need anything." Said in the nicest way possible, without a hint of irony or sarcasm.

Dude, you need to get the f*ck out of there. It sounds like a really toxic work environment from all the stories you've told. I know there's more than one side to every story and I'm only getting yours, but there's still a baseline level of respect that should be given in a professional environment. Getting asked questions and then immediately cut off when answering is infuriating.

Saw a transmanlady at the wal Mart. It was using a paper ketchup cup to drink sprite in tiny amounts for free at the McDonalds.

My selfie cam private eye shots are spot on huh? He kinda looks like Doug stanhope

Hockey Hair to boot, be nice, shimmy may play some mean sludge guitar and be looking for a bassist.

I feel pretty, oh so pretty...
