Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

if you look at the what stuff listed for vs sold for on reverb you see how it goes. The new product retailers prices might drop a dollar or two, but used gear drops like crazy pretty often.

It's a matter of how eager you are to move it and market saturation that really determine what you get for your gear.

Usually when I list anything for sale I go searching for what things have actually sold for, list mine 10% above that (or what I want to get for it, sometimes it's less than the going rate) and eventually drop it. I never list anything for exactly what I want for it, because I will get a lowball offer every single time. Generally when I start selling something I have a list of the prices I'm going to start at, the price I'd like to get and the bottom price I'd take. With Reverb I have to consider the fees, theirs and PayPal. I used to figure in the price of shipping and always show the shipping price as FREE, but then I realized they take more fees out that way and stopped doing that.

1) Hoard every ancient "tuxedo" and similar-era Peavey on the planet, thus dwindling the global supply
2) Post shexxxy glamour shots of PVYHENGE publicly on the interwebs, thus boosting their desirability
3) DOOOOOOOOOM
4) Profit!!!

I will take full blame for the all out bid war for the next Vulcan to come on the market...

Also people are actually taking on and using the Tuxedo name, im way too happy about that fact.

I know how to check completed listings on ebay but how do you do it on Reverb?

This is how I feel about all the stuff I'm selling right now. Can't justify holding onto it, since I never use it, but think it's all super cool and just want to have it.

Yeah I don't have that many pedals like I used to. I know I will buy more as I always have a wish list but I am finally putting a motorcycle together that has been in my yard for three years and I know something is wrong with the front end of one of our vehicles so freeing up some cash for that stuff. I will say that tinkering with motorcycles has really lost it's fun for me. I used to love wrenching on them, but would much rather be messing with guitar gear.

Just for fun kicking around the idea that I would a to build a 6x12 that is 2 modular vertical 3x12s that i can "combine", or lock together (easy to transport). Just having fun with the design....What are some popular 12" speakers for bass?

Not opposed to using Neo's.

What kinda of specs am I looking at besides wattage, sealed/vented, and Xmax?

Last night I went over to my friend's house and recorded bass tracks for a couple songs he's been working on. Not sure how you would classify the genre, sounds like something in between old Weezer and shoegaze with heavy tones in drop D. I brought my Drake Custom, haven't played it regularly since the old doom metal band broke up. Made me fall back in love with it instantly. I love the way that bass feels, looks and sounds. I don't use it for super heavy downtuned stuff, because it's 33" scale and the tone of the humbucker picks is more traditionally voiced, like a Thunderbird or something similar, but it rocks for a thick thud and always sounds awesome with dirt.
