Cool!
Wow Lawton took me way back to 1991, basic training and artillery school at Ft. Sill.
Anyone know of a place (online or wherever) to get decent guitar pickups? I say decent, because I'm gonna put them through OD anyway, and I don't want to drop tons of money on tones I wouldn't be able to tell were "better". I'm hoping to stay in the $50 range each. Think that $25 Craigslist special might have bad pickups, and I'm taking it somewhere today after exhausting all I'm capable of checking last night. Wanna be ready if they tell me they have to replace pups. It's a Les Paul style, if it matters. 6 string. Thanks in advance!
Wasn't someone talking about a Dano Longhorn bass? Bryce? Anyone? Beuhler?

Ill do a straight trade for the Mostly Harmless preamp...no trades backies...
Those look pretty dang good. Thanks!I hear good things about GFS/Guitar fetish pickups but I don't have any experience with them.
They do have a lot of options, SC, HB and other things like Filtertron knockoffs.
I know they are inexpensive and some people swear by them.
That's the only thing that comes to the top of my head.

Something else I just thought of. Would I need to get new pots or anything?GFS makes some good pickups. I've enjoyed all three I've received from them.

Here are the pickups I would get from them (either bridge, neck, or both, depending on what I need or feel at the time):
Crunchy PAT High Output Humbucker, Black
And here's the guitar:

Thanks again!

I did not. What is this "pickup tap test" you speak of? Just dropped it off at the local shop. Tech said he'd call me in a few hours. Let's hope for the best!500k alpha/audio pots, I doubt you need them though. I can't believe everything in this guitar failed.
Did you do the pickup tap test?
Those pickups and the less hot fat pats are supposed to be really good. Dream 90's too. I have the loud mouth, the fender wide range and a lil killer strat pickup.
Good luck! And what's the drummer's excuse? Has he never heard of Def Leppard?Should be getting my paws on the SWR 610 tomorrow, bringing it to band practice tomorrow night. Probably won't get to crank it because I think this going to be more of a writing session (drummer's arm is still in a sling), but we'll see how it sounds. It hasn't been used for 10 years so hopefully it doesn't have any issues.

Only 4? Then it's not entirely worn out. YET.Haha, believe me that joke has been made about 4 times already. Torn tendon/ligament in his elbow. Had surgery a week ago, in recovery + physical therapy for at least 6 weeks.
