Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Casual Friday in the office - wearing a thrift store shirt that I was too fat to wear 3 weeks ago. Take that, fat!

My wife out of the blue last last night: "Holy crap you're looking skinny!"

Feels good, I had a lot of clothes that I was getting to big for and they're all starting to fit again. I try not to talk about it too much, because it really hasn't been that difficult and I don't like to pat myself on the back too much - but dammit it feels good.

My bad, it's MICRO not Minibrute. Watched some demos, cool nonetheless. Now I want one too :D

At this point' I really don't know where it gets us. We started as a doom band in vein of Monolord and Electric Wizard, then we went through a psych-stoner-space metal phase, then heavy kraut improvisation, now we've got two long(ish) tracks, both completely different and moving in a strange direction. At this point, I don't care if we record a demo and start playing gigs soon, it's fun and I'm curious where it gets us.

Rabbit holes are made for tumbling down, man. No rules.

Seriously. Run a festival on the land. Lots of work for three months out of the year, then coast on the proceeds.

Bonnarere!

If it paid, and was legal I'd try it lol.

Well **** me. That's the dual channel dunwich pre you got from Ron yeah? I want bad. That would annihilate my dually fund though.

Yes it is. just gonna keep my cabs, bass vi's and my cheap peavey amps and the danelectro pedals most likely.

Bryce will end up with a steady supply of shaggy starter girlfriends to tend to his grass cutting goats and vegetable gardens in between festivals.

It's gonna be a sanford and son situation, to fund this I'll be letting people store stuff on my land, selling firewood, roommate/s, and chickens and eggs.

Also I live next to a farmers market that I would totally snag some hipster girl/gf/business partner/indentured servant to tend to my land and sell the bounty.

I dig it, like an Un-Whacko from Waco kind of situation!!! You just need some gals who want a Guru Daddy instead of a Sugar Daddy!!!

Completely off topic, but I'm really digging my Dano pedals. For what I paid, they're amazing! And all I heard on the interwebs (not including you fine folks) was how they were terrible. I'm really thinking of getting another Fab Tone and Daddy-O, then a Dan-Echo and just having a 3 pedal mini Dano board. I could get by with those three easy if I had to. Unless they make a decent fuzz too...

Big box pedals I know of

Fabtone
Daddy-o
Dan echo - idk what it's based on
cool cat - roland jazz chorus amp clone
psycho flange - expensive used pedal that supposedly is terrible, but I'm curious
sitar swami - expensive used pedal that supposedly is terrible, but I'm curious
blue paisley (daddy-o with treble/mid/bass boost switch) rare only released in the UK
black paisley (Fabtone with octaver) rare only released in the UK

there is also the spring king and reel echo massive box pedals.
