No one has a really unique movie collection, they all more or less get the same stuff. Crackle is somewhat different, HBO and the other premiums have a few new or original flicks, but overall very similar offerings with slight differences mainly in TV content.

Yeah, pretty much. I am impressed with the old school kung fu and older Japanese movies on Hulu though. Two areas I'm highly interested in. Netflix has very few older Japanese offerings. But they do have a lot of newer stuff. It's a trade off. I'll be back on Netflix soon. haha. Probably keep Hulu as well.

I need to get some kind of audio book thing going on. After 8 hours on the computer and with my migraines actually reading a book is brutal. But I so miss reading.

Not a big anime/Asian film person so that sides always lost to me. I watch a lot of BBC. Luther, Lexington Steele etc

I have Amazon prime, Hulu, Netflix and used to HBO, Cinemax, Starz, etc package all via people I know save anazon prime. Then we each share the collective bounty of the stream. Nature...

I watched the original The Night Stalker tv movie from 1972 last night. It's so hard to find anywhere legitimate, had to look it up on Youtube. It reminded me how 70's TV horror movies were pretty much up to the standard of 70's horror films, just no cursing or nudity. So now I'm trying to hunt down Trilogy Of Terror and When Michael Calls.

There's tons of good, obscure stuff on youtube- having the app for the PS3 is awesome.

Hulu is good for the criterion collection films, some current tv. More often than not if we're looking for a specific movie that's relatively recent we end up renting via amazon.

Yeah, I do audio books at work occasionally, on Youtube. I listened to the 2 Kingkiller Chronicles books a few weeks back.
I looked into Audible but it's a bit pricey. At least to my understanding of how it works. Monthly charge of $20, one free book a month, then you pay for everything else on top. I guess they have deals for stuff but it's probably all stuff I'm not interested in or have horrible reviews. But, you never know.

Yeah, I was kind of pissed when I got Hulu. All these movies I spent a ton of money on are available on there. haha. Well at least I have hard copies for when I ditch all the media services. Which I probably will at some point for a few months. Kind of like when I get off FB for a few months every year or two. Just to get away.

Taking the day off after polishing some loose ends this morning.
Subaru parts for another attempt to get these heads rebuilt have been in for a while. This shop will tell me the truth and not cover up crap. They are a trusted racing shop that has a rep to keep.

Black eagle was dropped of for a BEAD setup that I was not able to pull off. Should be able to pick it up mid day.

@Corey Y I think I recall you put a Mighty Mite neck on your p bass build. I saw some bad reviews of them and was wondering if the frets were level on the neck you bought?

I did use a Mighty Mite. I've had zero problems, but I also bought it used from another TBer. So it's possible it could be a matter of chance or that the original owner leveled the frets. Either way, for $100 and a fret level/polish, I think they would still be a good deal.

I rock a maple/maple Mighty Mite as well. I think when I first got it, I took it to a tech at a shop and asked him to give the frets a once over. But I don't think he did, the fret ends were never properly filed, so I'm guessing the tech didn't do much leveling, either. But it's always played and intonated just fine as far as I can tell. I've always meant to file the fret ends myself but then I just got used to it. So I would expect to have to work on the frets a bit to get them smooth, shiny and perfectly leveled.

Thanks. I have leveled frets before so not too big a deal. I got one high fret on the Waterstone that is driving me nuts that I need to fix.

That Fender American V p bass body in the classifieds is tempting me. Someone put a nice mahogany cap on it. I wouldn't mind having a 5er p bass.

I'm not much of a big pedal guy. HERESY!!! especially here I know I know. But hey I've come a long way from being a guy playing guitar in a punk rock band, feeling vaguely impure because I knew there were some transistors in my BOSS TU-3 tuner between my strat and my all-tube amp.
Anyways, I took the plunge on a EHX Nano-POG. It should arrive by tonight. In my current setup, I split out to three different amps (one cleanish bass, two guitarish mid-focused heavy amp distortion). I will try the nanoPOG in one of the guitarish branches in octave-up mode and see how that works for an extra level of next-levelness to take it to. I'm kind of excited. But I feel kind of dirty. It's DIGITAL! It's sooo wrong.. but will it feel so right? We'll see.


Oh yeah MORE local boosterism. These guys just released an EP. They were a 5-piece like 3 years ago but they broke up. The singer kept the flame alive and learned to play bass. It seems like just a few months ago I'd run into him at shows and he was still looking for guys to jam with to get something going. But now he's back with a 3 piece lineup and have been getting rave reviews on this new EP. Blackened sludge with a groove, it's pretty damn good...

I roll with zero pedals. (Well, I use a SansAmp Bass Driver pedal as my preamp, but that only for a tone control.)
