When we played with North, their bassist was using a V4 (may have been a V4B) through an 810 and a 610. Loud as hell, gnarly tone.

Odd because I am so audio-oriented, but I discovered years back I can't do audio books. My mind just wanders...suddenly someone's been murdered or having a baby or something and I'm all "Who the feck even ARE these people?"
I love Night Stalker. Grew up on the show...few years back I bought the whole series as well as the DVD that had the two made-for-tv movies which is now outta print. Gone now.
I just watched Trilogy of Terror a few weeks back. It's a fun one.
Well men, been in hospital since Monday. Leg and foot pain got so bad I literally couldn't walk. Turns out I have infection in the bones. It's pretty bad...multiple kinds of bacteria including gangrene, staph and some more exotic breeds.
Been hooked up to IV antibiotics for days, bored off my azz. Released tomorrow they say. They wanted to do surgery and send me home with a picc line of liquid antibiotics but trouble is I am transitioning jobs, starting new one Monday, and my new health insurance won't kick in for a month, so no medical care in October.
Gonna send me home with a 6-week supply of oral antibiotics, pain meds and a wheelchair. When I have insurance again, they'll re-assess my condition and may then do a picc line and/or surgery...some bone removal.
Will be mostly in a wheelchair the next several weeks...not sure how long I will have the use of my legs. Or much of my actual legs for that matter. But got my fingers crossed.
I've read until my eyes hurt...couple of excellent non-fiction books: In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick and The Lost City of Z. Two amazing real life adventures.
Today I watched eight--EIGHT--Friday the 13th movies, and not because I wanted to.
Did you know Jason went to Manhattan? Fascinating stuff. Apparently slaughtering morally loose teens in rural lakeside settings couldn't fully placate his supernatural bloodlust.
Yeah, that was me. Her boyfriend's sister lives there, and housing is way cheaper (of course, heating is more expensive, and the amount of AC needed in the summer will make for higher electricity, too... only water will be cheaper, probably... but don't tell them that) there. I mean, I wouldn't want her to leave anyway, because she's my best friend and has been for almost ten years now. But having feelings for her also makes it suck even more. However, we do plan to try acid together at least once before she leaves, so there's that.@Sartori --was it you who mentioned a girl yer sweet on moving to SoDak? Fvck is in South Dakota other than Rushmore? I mean, it's pretty up there in parts, but it's not a cultural powerhouse...not that I should talk, living in Oklahoma at the moment. But one of the best things you can say for South Dakota is that it's not quite as cold and barren as North Dakota.
Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone. Hopefully going home today.
...However, we do plan to try acid together at least once before she leaves, so there's that.
Neither of us ever tried acid. Somehow we went to UCSC without doing so. Plenty of booze and weed, though. Are you saying you've never done acid, or just never done it together with her?
I haven't done any hallucinogens in several years, but my teens and 20s sure woulda been different without them. I was a trippin' fool. Hell, the entire summer of 1987 I never even came down.
Sorry your friend is moving away. One of the most painful aspects of life, I think, is that there is a goodbye for every hello. But at least you know she's still around, and you may see her again.
Yeah, yeah--cost of living, but it's hard for me to fit my mind around leaving SF for The Badlands.
Getting sprung finally! Going home within the hour...
Depends on what the person is mostly into. They've varied so much over the years. If one were to have never listened to Neurosis, what would be an album (or few) that would be good to start with?
****, that was 8.5 hours of math homework, still not where I'm supposed to be. Will spend all day tomorrow on it too. Instructor is worthless, barely speaks english, interrupts and talks over me when i have questions, provides zero instruction. Just finally gave up for the day and checked Facebook- saw everyone i know doing fun stuff outside, felt like a kick in the balls. 4 more weeks and I'll be done with this class, but in the meantime th last of the nice weather is fading and I'm stuck in the basement grinding though math problems. Also, my dad just called seeing if I'm going to the biannual car show / swap meetv tomorrow that we've been doing since i was a teenager- can't, math.
**** this. Oh well first world problems i guess.
