Yeah, the extra space is enticing. I can order an off-the-shelf buffered clean blend that would fit in there with lots of room left to spare.
I love my OD Glove (EHX OCD clone), just cuts a tiny bit too much low end. Using the MXR M85 for my low-gain needs these days.
Two weeks ago with Bitchcraft we had an awesome gig in a very small club. No PA, no sound guy who tell us to turn down and no sound guy who's going to shag up our sound because he can't do sounds... we've played only with our backline and it was probably our best sounding gig... from what I heard from the public. It was super fun.
Contact @BbbyBld as he might have some insight on where to get your amp looked at, and what the issue may be. If he can narrow it down, you might save some tech time/$$$.
Thats the problem I had in VEGA, no matter what rig I had, I just couldnt quite do it, I was being sonically limited by my guitarist obserdly bassy tone.
And thats why Im super excited about this new band, 2 guitarists with mig100/MACE half stacks at decently loud volumes and not bassy tones against me with a one amp and one cab. 130 watt BASS 300 into my folded 18 at not even half way up. Makes for a perfect mix.
We're having volume issues with two 100W half stacks and my 300W >610. That's all tube though, and in a pretty small room. I expect it'll sound killer in a venue.
Switch is on high pass, gain between 1 o clock and 3, tone at 3 and volume between 8:30 and 9. It has this upper mid clank when I riff 16ths that I love. I don't really experience a lot of low end loss, but the bass on my beta is dimed.
Thinking about snatching up a VMT. Any appreciable pros/cons between that and a JohnK Gamma Bass OD? I'm really digging the Gamma, and it sounds great, but I'm feeling a GAS attack. Should I just save the cash? I'm also going to be buying a chorus for my guitar rig. Hardwire chorus probably. Any compelling reason not to? Thanks as always, doomers!
That's the one. I'm looking for mild tube dirt. It's gonna be my slower, doomier sound to complement my faster, B3K thrashy sound. I have no issues whatsoever with my Gamma Bass OD, just thinking out loud here.
Actually, I'm perusing a local store's inventory, and might get few other pedals on the cheap and forget the VMT. We shall see.
From what I've heard the Ultimate Drive has more low end than the ODG.

My bosses are a Ukrainian woman who was a physician in Ukraine and is a random manager here and my immediate supervisor was a Colonel in the Red Army back in the 80s. They aren't very receptive to suggestions lol
I just want to mention for the people looking for a gritty OD if you use a Boss HM2 and set it like its a boost it actually gets a really nice ODish color to the sound. Surprisingly versatile pedal.
I've played outdoors with no PA support. I turned my amp all the way up, or near enough, but it was loud enough.
Because loud cab. Still impractical, since it's a heavy tube amp.
That desert gig was something, though.
Yeah... we don't actually run very big rigs. Mostly because there are so many. Three guitar rigs and one bass rig.I can understand that if no PA support but with it's just over kill for a small stage. Our last gig at the Golden Bull our stage volume was way too loud with PA support. Just half stacks and my 410 with the bridged HD1500/VTRM rack.
Course they didn't have the same sound guy that supported Catapult till the fire alarm went off.

My board I'm building runs a HM-2 and UD. Great pedals, UD is before reverb, hm-2 is after.
I have been bingeing Walking Dead and just catching up on here now. I stumbled on Kava from Jan mentioning the Yogi kava tea, which is pretty good to get an idea of kava. I buy the actual root for about 6 months now and it is life-changing to me. It removes anxiety, calms your mind and body, makes you sleep restfully and wake up refreshed. I think they estimate that Pacific Islanders have used the root for 3000 years as a communal intoxicant and medicine. Higher doses, depending on the strain, can be euphoric but you keep your mental clarity. Some strains are like a muscle relaxer. It takes some prep work to make it traditionally(not too bad though) or you can buy the more micronized or instant. It doesn't taste great, straight sort of like licking a wet rock. I mix it in V8 Splash orange pineapple so my girlfriend can drink it too. I use it medicinally daily and recreationally at nights and weekends. Migraining hard today so I am not very descriptive about it like I usually am so I will add some links here. The Kava Forums are a great place to find info with very helpful and chill dudes like on here. They even a cool Kava Metal Soundtrack thread on there. They approve the best vendors who sell Noble root and bash the bad vendors that sell Tudei root(bad stuff)on there, so it is a great place for root reviews before purchases. Root usually costa about $32 to up to $70 a pound but $50 shipped is about average. There are some good deals I know about it. The bummer is there is a sort of RT period, reverse tolerance. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to really feel it. Once you break through RT you feel it all the time and need less amounts of root. I got krunk a few times on it during my RT and always felt the medicinal effects but now I get pretty consistent krunks out of it. It's not mind spacey like green but still euphoric and sometimes it can remind of that good beer buzz when you feel good but aren't plastered. You have to avoid buzzkills and find a nice quiet space to listen to the kava as they say so you can really melt into your couch to some good music. It also works great for stressful times at work or when I have to be in crowds(not a big fan of crowds unless they are shutting up and listening to the music playing).

An inexpensive but easy way to check out some kava is the Kava King Instant. Pretty strong too, just shake up well in water or juice and slam. Works best on an empty stomach. I keep this at work but make traditional root at home.

The best kava is Gourmet Hawaiian Kava, the guru farmer Chris grows it and sells his own and some from Fiji and Vanuatu too. His Hawaiian Mo'i and Mahakea is strong!!!

Kalm with Kava is good stuff too. I love his Fiji Loa Waka root it is killer. His Borogu is good too but not as intense

Any Yerba mate drinkers on here? I had it one time and liked it but thinking of trying it out for non-jittery energy and as a natural vasodilator for my migraines.
