Just snagged a free ticket for the All Them Witches / Kadavar / Sword show tonight. Don't really care about the Sword, but pumped for the other two. Was going to skip it because the venue charges out the ass for tickets and drinks. Saving $20+ on the ticket makes it a little easier to take.

Well, got the band room painted (kinda) and used some of that fancy chalkboard paint. Once it cures in a few days, I'll have a newly red room AND a big chunk of chalkboard wall! Excited. Also, finally made an all Dano board that actually functions on its own. In the past I'd have to cannibalize cables etc. from other boards. No more! IT LIVES!

Wife and I just got our tix for the same tour, Tuesday next week. Southwest Terror Fest this weekend, then this show the next Tuesday, then Tool on Halloween. The forecast calls for heavy....

Well dammit, after a couple months of zero gig offers (half the shows we've played are ones I put together myself and haul the PA to), I have to turn down opening for Spirit Caravan and Mondo Generator on Halloween.

got my tix, for me, the wife, the bro-in-law, the out-of-town friend. Also looking forward to maybe meeting some of the folks from this board coming into town. Not gonna miss this show.

Ha ha, my parents get the job. They will be in town for the smaller one's 4th birthday. So yeah, Halloween/Tool concert night it's gonna be my saintly parents, my straight-laced wife, my kinda sorta straightlaced self, and my full-blown mind-expandin' hippie college friend all crashing at my place. It will be eeeeenteresting to say the least.

Anyone here have or had a Boss DF-2 feedbacker distortion? How does it sound?

How does it do on guitar, standard bass, Detuned bass?

Never owned one, but played in a band with a guitarist that had one. We were tuned pretty low and it sounded decent on his guitar. I was disappointed at the feedback, it seemed very controlled and tame to me.

Like other boss guitar dirts I imagine it cuts a lot of low end. There's a behringer clone if you're looking to audition one before shelling out for the real deal.

Ah the guy I got my boss DC-3, Slow volume and stuff from is offering another trade. He's got the same stoner/alt country taste and repairs vintage effects, and lead sled solid state heads for a living. I guess most people focus on tube amp repair and he kills in his niche.

I've got a couple, they're fun. The distortion circuit is DS-1, so only so-so for bass. Should be fine regardless of tuning.

when did you get the heritage?

That's the fridge I bought off Ron early this year after Dictator/Tyrant hooked him up with a new rig. I'd been looking into getting a fridge and figured a Heritage was the way to go. Picked it up in Chicago when I was out there with the Mrs. The cab is great.

The FB is pretty tame, not even close to real feedback. It's good to have running under a riff as an accent, though. The version I use on my MDT board has the dist. circuit disabled and add'l controls over the FB, works well for those really noisy breakdowns.

I opened it up, damn builder gooped all the solders. Good thing he gives guarantee for all his products, gonna ship it to him and let him do the work.
I'm a bit pissed off though, Mooers and Joyos hold well, better quality pedals fail me from time to time.

Had a friend with a drill press drill my 1590B for my Rat clone, used the template from the PCB supplier's website. Holes are TOO SMALL by a mm or two. Was really hoping to finish it up this week. Trying to decide if I should try to embiggen the holes myself or if I should give them back to mr. drill press for a more professional embiggening.

Should probably just give it back to dude.

So If say I struck a note/chord (what's best?) then stepped on the pedal, can I keep playing over the affected note/chord. Or is the signal frozen until I stop holding it.

It's going to hold and feedback whatever signal's input when ye press & hold the switch (it's non-latching). You can play over it and adjust the vol. level of FB.

Got my MXR Bass Envelope Filter in today. It's awesome. Definitely not as versatile as my SA one, but then again, it's 20 or so filters in one. Anyway, it took a bit to dial in without getting squealy on me, but once I did, it's solid. Tried it in the mix tonight as well, and just as hoped, the two volumes kept my lows intact and the filter cut the mix like butter. Heck of a lot more present than the SA. Definitely a keeper! Might have to clean it up a bit, though, mine's got some gunk on it. No clue what it is, but it's pretty hard stuff. Goo-gone, maybe?
