Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

My wife and I are seriously interested...just been broke of late.

My goal is to keep the price very reasonable, really trying to share the love of kava, and to be able to buy in bulk if I do start up a mobile kava cart this summer. Hopefully within a month I should have some sales going. Probably start through ebay or amazon or both until I get my own site going. And of course straight through paypal or whatever for Doomers.

We've got one about Battlestar Galactica series (the new one, not the old cheesy one), finishing one about that Kepler 186-f planet, the one that is presumably habitable (but it will probably be instrumental), and recently started one about the Black Knight satellite (which is pretty much a hoax/conspiracy theory/space rolled into one).
So yeah, science fiction, space and conspiracy theories.

Interesting you mention Kepler 186-f. Here is a doomy tidbit for you, maybe a final verse or whatever. While that planet is theoretically habitable(though they do not know if it is rocky or gaseous yet), it is in fact doomed. Assuming we could put people on it to colonize/study/science or whatever, it could never be a long term deal as that planets star is in the last stretch of its life cycle. Very soon(in relative galactic time) it will go super nova and implode on itself creating a black hole and theoretically destroying every thing in its orbit. So yeah... Doomy as F.

One thread. 1700 pages.

In a literal sense, yes. But I believe their are like 98 other S/D threads all with what, 100pages or so?

Any graphic designers or know of where I can get a personal symbol label made up. Probably just a simple black and white art but I need something to put on my kava bags when I start selling them.
I can probably help, I'm a burnt out designer though. Working for the man will do that. convo me.

No, no, there isn't. It must have been some sort of cruel joke. ALL songs are about wizards, right?
All songs must be written about wizards, lest ye incur their wrath.

I hate coming up with lyrics, but since I'm the designated screamer, I kinda have to. It's usually painful. I'm much better at writing riffs. I think.

Ah I don't scream. Right now I'm working on controlling dynamics and finding my own voice so to speak.

So far, I'd liken my mouth spew as an overdriven nasally cocked wah. Hard to stay clean, it gets harsher and grainier the longer I go, but it's slowly getting more in control and getting longer between total vocal clarity decay.

Oh I loved Battlestar Galactica, so miss that show.

Screaming as a figure of speech, I'm still working on my voice, but I'm more inclined to clear singing. My guitarist would love me to growl and otherwise do nasty things vocally, but I really can't and don't like to.

I love that show!

I would just drive the 3 hours back home blasting various genres trying to keep up with it. Two nirvana albums alone gets me sounding like I deep throated a lit cigar.

I end up writing music I'm often not able to come up with lyrics for. Then I write a bunch of lyrics that I can't think of decent music to fit to them.

I'll write lyrics that I think sound good at the time, but when I go back and look at them a week or two later, I find them totally embarrassing and terrible.

I can sing okay; just can't write stuff for me (or anybody else) to sing.

I already sound like that. **** I gotta quit smoking.

I really enjoy old Slipknot and some of their newer stuff. Corey Taylor is probably one of my favorite metal vocalists. When I try to sing his tunes my voice is shredded almost to blood coughs after a song or two.

My wife and I have pretty much quit. I've had maybe one and a half cigarettes in the past month.

We are still hooked on tobacco (though plan to wean off it completely)--but we have been using this:

Portioned_snus.jpg

It's called "snus." It's been around in Sweden for centuries. Camel actually makes a snus (which I don't care much for) but this General brand stuff is pretty good and strong. It will KILL your cig cravings, at least in our experience.

The thing I like about snus is that unlike most oral tobacco--including that nasty "Skoal-in-a-pouch" type stuff, you don't have to spit. Nobody knows you have one in your mouth.

Is snus good for you? No. But undoubtedly less harmful to lungs and hear than smoking.
