Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Old creep was driving a rusted out winnebago that reeked of rotten meat. Also, he never offered to help, as i was clearly stranded with a dead car and alone. Not that i would have accepted, the owner of the car was off with another friend to borrow a truck and tow straps, but any remotely normal person would have offered to drive me in to town or something. I was ready to collapse his face with that tire iron, glad it didn't come to that.

Yeah menacing a crowbar and coprophagia were your only options with that guy.

Finally got a footswitch for my Peavey Supreme head. Forgot how much I enjoyed its OD channel. Currently working on getting a nice bluesy tone from my new-to-me DOD Classic Tube, and a slight OD from the head, that when both are combined I get a nice doom sound. Should be fun! I feel I'm close, but not quite there. Right now it sounds like a muddy version of thrash, but I'll keep twiddling away! I'm hoping to be able to use these settings to get rid of a pedal on my board so I can add the Joyo Classic Flange back on.

Super fuzz is ok on bass, no low end loss with the brass knob cranked. Gets really synthy on fuzz 2. Don't think I'll use it in the band, but it's a nice addition to my cheap dirt collection and a fun piece to have around. Eventually I'm going to build a gigantic pedal board for guitar, totally impracticable and homemade, but fun. Just need to fix half a dozen pedals first...

Good god! That's the 700+ hp beast right? Unreal. That's got to be insane to drive. Drove my cousins ~700hp supercharged 90's Mustang once, and it was sheer craziness. The Stage II GTI is pretty damn quick from a roll up to 100, but obv not coming anywhere near that crazy mxtherfxcker.

Yeah it is a handful. Gets to 100 real quick and feels like you are coating at 150. Scariest car I have ever driven.

I roll a 2008 bone stock MKV Jetta in 4x4 mode. 170 horses of I-5 power loaded with Pings in the trunk.

That will move if you built on it... ;)

Hey fellas so I scored this bag end d10bx-d for $280(asking price $350)on Craigslist.

I got to try it out on the guys fender jazz thru a Hartke lh4000? The low end for 2x10s actually sounded really good. I was pretty surprised.

I think eventually I'll get one of the 1x15 4(ohm) extension cabs out there or buy a fearless bassic 15 with the faital 4(ohm) and run the svt 2 pro on 2(ohm).

This is the first year in all of Texas history that it was ever legal to open carry. I've yet to personally see anyone do it though.
In Kansas we have open carry and conceal carry without a permit. I pack almost all the time unless I'm going somewhere they are not allowed like court. Businesses can post no gun stickers and make you leave if you bring one in. I always respect that. I mainly carry because I work in a strip club and am surrounded by drunken ******** every night. Its goddamned Deadwood out here...

That's pretty cool.

I'll never get a CC if it requires being listed though.

Open carry is fine by me, but I wouldn't do it. My possibly wrong assumptions are

1. I think I'd get hit over the head and my gun taken, or someone just grab and run.

2. I assume wearing a gun would only serve as birth control. Aka the best defense against a date with the opposite sex.

I think I have to send the micro synth in to EHX to get the circuit fixed and two sliders replaced. They won't go all the way up, almost, but no. Also the octave up and square wave if even raised a tiny bit start introducing massive noise that rings out louder than the effected signal.

Supposedly it's not expensive ($15-$25) so might still be under $100... Also found out you can remove the boards and drill a hole and easily set up an optional expression out and turn it into a synth wah.
