track days would be the way to go! DFW is a cluster funk, but there's no shortage of tracks. But then I'd get a fast junker for that situation. Herby!

Where I work is the wealthiest area, and I'm surrounded by the rich firing up corvettes and such when they never get past 20mph stop and go. It's hilarious watching them *vrrrrooommmeeeeeeetch* past each other.

most cops here have never been as bad as I think gets portrayed... But I'm a white guy in a corolla jamming NPR so they've never once hassled me. Even when I accidently ran two red lights with expired registration they just gave me a ticket. Very glad I was not searched.

Mostly anytime I see people getting tossed. They generally get pulled off I-35 and headed to or from Mexico in a convoy with 30 tons of crap loaded onto the vehicles. That or the old DWB...

That said, Williamson County, where I grew up is like the least tolerant county in the country. The DA is known for hiding evidence or refusing appeals to keep his conviction rating up. In fact a man accused of burning his kids alive protested the accusation and provided DNA evidence. DA made sure the guy was executed without considering his appeal. Then Only after, the DA had the evidence tested, and "discovered" the guy was innocent...

Currently the police are off my radar. My peeve is crazy white people in DFW are using our new statewide open carry laws to follow muslims (or Sikhs...) and make sure they don't "terrorist"...

So basically, Racists suck with or without badges.

Yeah.... Once you hit speeds where the light posts kinda look like picket fences you know you're moving.

Once took a test drive in a 911 twin turbo. Stopped at a light, to turn left on to the highway. Sales guy tells me to wind it up a bit on the highway. I was at 140 as I came off the on ramp, and the sales guy was white as a sheet. Nice car, way way way past my price range, and not really my style. I think he was a little disappointed he didn't make a sale.

I'd assume a 911 is a crown Victoria police mobile. But then you say pricey. Do lot cars have insurance? Like if a dolt did that and impacted the median what happens next lol?

I broke somewhere between 108 and 122mph in my Corolla once last year when I was very late for a meeting and no one was on the road. It's crazy at that speed when you do see people they quickly change lanes as you come upon the horizon. I'll find my picture I took of the speedometer during the peak. How else can you unsafely as possible prove you're unsafe speeds? Other than hitting stuff that is.

Oh and getting an 80's boss RV-2 and a TC electronics polytune for $80 of Craigslist as my Black Friday.

Me and my dad gutted the Joyo trem and playing with the trim pots to see what the bias does and the level. Well neither do much, and were both maxed. But if you tweak them a bit together you get the craziest noisiest stuttery sputtery fuzz. Time to remount on the surface and turn this into a crazy box.

For me, it's more about handling and acceleration than top speed. I don't often excessively speed, but I definitely get to the speed limit in short order. I live in southern WI, so the southwest driftless area is a goldmine of amazing twisty roads that are an absolute joy to ride with a nicely tuned german suspension (GTI), or sportsbike (CBR650F).

That said, I've had both the car and bike well above 130. :) Definitely a rush on a motorbike!

I did get a ticket a couple weeks ago. A cabbie purposefully cut me off while smiling at me, so when I had the chance, dropped into the next lane, and flew by him with a one finger salute. Unfortunately there was a cop waiting for me. 22over, 6 points, only $150. First speeding ticket ever. :(

Stood behind a guy in Safeway this morning with a flashy 1911 on each hip. Always be prepared...and look awesome doing it.

Best defense is always a good offence. Having the power/handling over and above the generic cage is a good thing.
Getting my ass away from the stupid is usually the main goal on two or four wheels. Dads second wife just lost a grandson at 150 mph on a sport bike. Brother and I both got the call from him about how he's grateful I don't have death wish any more. Thing is we were both less than sympathetic. Kid chose to become a skid mark riding that fast on the public roads. All I could say was sorry man, that sucks.
