Also, took the non-modded Pork Loin for a quick swing at practice last night. Didn't dig in deep to the controls, but it sounds pretty decent. But yeah, it's very dark. I had the tone knob maxed, which is something I never do. Looking forward to doing to mod and hearing the difference.

Today I'm thankful for TB, even if my wallet is not. I'm also thankful for old-school DOD, which is ever so slowly overtaking my guitar board. Why didn't I try their stuff earlier? The FX53 Classic Tube just replaced my Real Tube Driver. Who would have thunk I preferred "tube" to tube!

An album sold only once for millions of dollars that "cannot be released publicly for 88 years".

Sounds awesome to me, the thought of an album as fine art, which you actually own the rights to. Still I'd love to hear it.

NO. Avoid those cabinets like the plague. Very easy to blow drivers. Lots of problems with that particular cabinet. SWR never got the wattage ratio figured out between the drivers. Plus very heavy and not very efficient.

Hey thanks for the reply, if I'm going for a doom/stoner to swans type of sound what cabs should I look into. I must say I like the sound of the fearful stuff I've heard but don't have any firsthand exp.

I've got a 12/6/1 you can try if you like. I'm over in Bremerton so its a bit of a hike.
Generally "Doom" music is all over the map for speakers- 15's 10's 12's. Its more a matter of dirt, what pedals or what amp cranked to 11. Plenty get by fine with a fridge or a 2/15. There was a Peavey 215 nearby recently for cheap($75) can't find it now so that doesn't help.

Yeah the speaker is blown but I'd replace both anyways. Scorpions suck.

I use a swr goliath sr 610 with my 2-Pro, sounds killer. Also had good results with a pair of ported 1x15s.

My initial gas reaction was to get a modular rig of a 12/6/1 and 12sub or same thing with 15s.

Well I should be done with my 15sub soon. But there are also alot of other fEARfuls in the area you could ask around.

I think that's Peavey's smaller 215. I know some had BW1502s(peavey bass guitar black widows). I've also seen people put EVs in them. Really though if you were committed to that cabinet a few simple measurements would help determine the best speaker for it.

I'd go with 15s over 12s if the fearful stack is what you are geared towards.


With a 2 pro, you may be super happy with an Ampeg 810.

i don't have a fearful but if I am using a cab with a tweeter I usually find myself turning it off.

Death to tweeters. This **** ain't gospel, there is nothing about doom that should "sparkle".

I turn them off, but my mainstays are an Ampeg 810 and ported tweeter less 215s.


Speaking of, the replacement speaker for my dually should be landing any day now. Just in time for my band to have just finished our last shows of the year and focus on writing/recording! Heeeeyaaaahhh
