I have always been intrigued by Darkglass because of the hi/low mid controls, a feature that many others seem to leave out. Ultimately I feel the same about Darkglass and Sansamp. They make every tone sound the same. The bake-in is just too strong in my opinion. I'm pretty much in love with my SVP-CL, it would be cool to run a dirtier and/or brighter preamp with it and then the power amp in stereo.

looking at all the NAMM things. definitely want a Korg GripTune. Stone Deaf PDF-2 looks like a perfect guitar rig addition, and their amps are certainly curious. not that excited about all the tiny bass amps..

I haven't posted pictures of this so far and have avoided mentioning it. Don't really want to jinx myself.

The neck is maple lined fretless. It's in between applying danish oil and its next sanding so things are a bit uneven.

The body is poplar, and freakishly soft(i really should have known better.) I'm currently working on preparatory sanding before dying. Trying to get rid of scratches and handling marks. Also in research mode for hand dying a burst as opposed to spaying. If i can work up convincing burst on a test block I'll go ahead on the body. Otherwise it's solid color with oil finish.( might be stupid over poplar)

Think green with black hardware.

It should, its just a reversed Iceman body. I'm not brave enough to reinvent the wheel, design speaking. Maybe the next instrument I make I'll roll my own.

What kind of green finish?

Translucent, hopefully with lots of depth(hence the desire for an oil finish), hopefully rather dark. Dark colors are difficult with dyes so it may only end up dark enough if I do the burst with a black or an ebonizer. Still time will tell. All of this depends largely upon my success. Other people seem to be very good at doing this. My first attempt at ALL of this so there is a high probability of failure.

Should be much fun.

NCD. Sunn 215s cab, unloaded. I got this puppy fo free. I just happened to see this as the first thing on my newsfeed as soon as I sat down after returning from dropping a friend off at the airport. I assumed it would be gone or spoken for as the post was 20 minutes old when I saw it. Luck was in my favor and out the door I was 5 minutes later. I'm going to load it with my K140s. It should be pretty rocking. It's in much better shape than the guy described. Just needs some fresh Velcro for the grille.

Friend referred me to her old company and they just reached out, fingers crossed this takes good starting pay in an interesting field.

Want a pressure cooker if i do get employed, been reading about a model that smokes as well, aka brisket in an hour or home smoked Gouda. Reading reviews of appliances is funny, I love that people's biggest complaint about them is the size... Well you put your food in it people. You bought a big model to fit a lot of food in it.

NAMM day zero is in the bag. Managed to get back to the room by ten, only had 4 beers over the course of 6 hours. I'll consider that a win.

Only thing I've been interested in that I've seen posted so far is the Boss VB-2 reissue... then I saw the price tag.

I saw that verellen yesterday. I have to say that as much as I want to gas for a verellen, I just don't. I do not like the front panel layout for that amp at all. Without being able to blend the channels it just seems outside any utility for me.

That Darkglass amp IS intriguing though. Hopefully they also produce a rack preamp. That would really catch my attention.

Yeah... if I buy a boutique amp, ever, it'll have a mid knob that's actually useful. That's what keeps me from GASing for a Verellen.

Depends where the hi/low mid controls are centered. The mids I like most often fall right between them.
