Haven't gotten a chance to try the Marshall or the Ashdown, sadly.
I've tried the Mesa Strategy and I'm thinking about buying one now that I can afford it. Problem is I can only afford to get either it or another Rickenbacker... and I haven't decided which to go with yet. The Strategy has quite a bit more low end on its "standard" settings than my D-180 does on its "flat" settings.
I know D.M.N. has used a Fender 300Pro (the rebadged Sunn 300T) and so he could relay his experiences with that.
Oh yeah, I did have one of those for a while. That bas*ard was LOUD. And clean. That's probably the single most powerful amp I've ever played, even stacked against an SVT. Graphic EQ was pretty nifty, as was the bright switch (bass boost was unnecessary, it's plenty bassy). Blend feature and 2nd channel were cool, though I felt it was more like a fuzz pedal than overdrive. Compression section I never used. Great amps, totally underrated, people pay premiums for the Sunn 300T version, but the Bassman 300pro was more reliable (slightly updated design IIRC) and can be had cheaper since they don't have the word Sunn on them. Main draw back? 80lbs. I switched to the 2000s mostly because I wanted to get more power tube drive at more reasonable volumes. However, if I needed clean and loud, those amps are definitely up there.
Seems like a silly question, but I'm assuming a fender tone stack? I guess if I ever looked for one of those I could always buy/build an EQ pedal to boost mids.
You know, I'm actually not sure. Since it was originally branded as a Sunn, and I believe in part designed by one of the designers of the SVT, I dunno if it was kept to the Fender stack. HOWEVER, even if it is, there is still the Graphic EQ. I pretty much only used that (it can be turned on or off, when on the bass and treble knobs do still work) with a one-sided frowny face EQ, and it had plenty of mids and highs (plus the bright switch engaged). Also if I remember correctly they have the option to slave a few together, which would just be insanely loud.
I can visualize the amp you're talking about because I've seen it, but all I can find a the super bassman 300pros without the graphic. MF says fender tonestack but also mentions active EQ.

I'm saying. Now I really want one. Serves me right for indiscriminately discussing gear. Has me thinking "sell the 2000s and T40 and buy the discounted blonde/oxbood on MF for $1500". I'm drunk.
Or the slightly more reasonable but more unthinkable, "don't buy dually#2 and use the money for a super bassman". I wonder if my GC buddies can get me that blonde for an additional discount.

Hey I may just get a SB300 at some point. Just can't justify it right now. Especially since I'd want a neo610 and or 2x neo15 cabs to match. But I' don't need to be that loud so the T100 may still be a good fit.
If it's similar to the reissue Model T's stone stack, it's probably between Fender and Marshall, if I recall correctly.

Do you have enough for a complete Noel Redding rig yet? Three heads and six cabs?
How much difference would there be volume-wise between a 410 Peavey cab and a 112 combo? Both are 100w. They are the Peavey Supreme head and Bandit combo, which are basically identical. Looking to get a quieter rig to practice more often at home without annoying the wife. Would the reduction in speakers be enough without a reduction in watts?

Oh you guys!!! I don't think I'll sell it. I know it would be an instant regret. There are only 4 types of people when it comes to the 2000s. Those that have never owned one, those that own one, those that horde the **** out of them and those that regret not owning one still.
But in all honesty I have bad impulse control and money I had set aside to order a dually like today or tomorrow. I may end up using one dually and an 810 for a lot longer and make a jump for a SB. Gotta have a stern internal dialogue today. I could also load my two peavey 215s with 3015s and use that.
Usually 3015s are like $200-$210. Avatar has 3015s designed for genz-benz for $140. Does anyone have any idea what if any is the difference? At $140 I could buy 4 of them at the resale of my svp/Prolite rig.
I really just need someone to shake me and tell me to either stay on course with the rig plan I've had for the last year and a half or pony up for another amp.
They are both solid state. The 112 will be much quieter but can't you just turn down?

I think 1 dually + 300W tube amp would be stupid loud. If stupid isn't loud enough then add the 8x10 (assuming the SB can do 2 ohms). If you like the sound of the SVP why not go for a full SVT? You can get a clean CL for well under a grand. Just sayin...
