I was just discussing the 1820 and 3620 with a buddy Derek of STLs Path of Might(they rip and he has a killer tone, check em out). His old singer just scored a 3620 via GC used for $200. Shipping got refunded due to delays. I told him he's lucky a cvltist didn't swoop that ****.



I want to love Dunwich more than I do. Both boxes I've had just didn't do it for me. Cthulhu was great but I don't bode well with fuzz faces and for some reason the wizard just didn't wow me at all really. I'm still holding out for an ODB though.

RE: poopers. You and I are of the same mindset.

My buddy is an arse. We remind him all the time. Our friendship has a lot of animosity and he is a bit of a psych case but we love him nonetheless. He knows at the end of the day we are just giving him a hard time.

With Dunwich I'm going completely custom.

So my wife and I agreed to each take a few hundred dollars from the proceeds of the sale of our house and treat ourselves.

this is what I got for myself.

2002-2004 CIJ (all my fenders are CIJ/MIJ, love them to death). PB70-US, with USA Vintage Pickups and some upgraded pots and caps and an Alder body for the price of the basswood/japanese pickup versions.

I've been looking for the right P to come along that I can throw some flat wounds on.

Now the wait, shipping from Japan shouldn't take more than 10 days though, will give me time to find a tort PG

I say this every time, but I think tort wouldn't look as good as the white. It reminds me of one of those old two-tone paint jobs that 50s and 60s cars had.

i think brown tort works well compared to the more red-ish tort.

Even pearl? I love how honky-tonk white pearl looks.

I like plain white. I don't like any kind of pearl or tort except brown tort on white.

Everybody's taste is different. As an extremely pasty white dude I'm not a fan of light colored basses anyways.

"Parchment" would be good as well.

Apparently Warmoth has an "Anaconda" color. Looks cool to me but that name makes me think of Sir. Mixalot.

Amazing? No...decent cheapish bass? Mos def, can get a variety of tones with the strat like pup setup.

Personally, my vote would go for parchment. I think mint can sometimes be a bit too green on some colours, and white is a little too stark. Tort? Vintage tort, can't say I'm fond of brown tort, though I don't really mind it either. It's more of a non-factor for me.

However, mother of toilet seat? That may be the greatest abomination ever to grace a pickguard. It just looks super cheesy-90s to me. I have no idea why, but when I first was becoming cognizant of instruments and what not, pearl pickguards on Jazzes and Precisions screamed lame 90s/00s to me. I just can't think of it any other way.

On that particular bass, my vote would be Parchment.
