Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I used to love oysters. Then I started shucking them as a job. Cant get one past my teeth anymore. Shame, as they used to be be my favorite.

This goes against my inner foodie, but I generally do not eat anything that includes the full innards of something. I'm not sucking out crawfish, I only want lobster tail and claw meat and oysters though I've heard they are tasty, make my stomach turn. Something about eating an organisms pooper just weirds me out.

I also am not a huge fan of organs in general.

It is $27 for a 9oz cut. Not bad really.

Not a fish eating dude, but damn disappointing to pay that and ask for it ruined.

What about rim jobs?

Crawfish! Getting them tonight.

A freshly showered bung is a bit different than sucking the intestines and everything remaining within them out of a crawfish. But you noticed the irony of my position. It doesn't make sense but... well... reasons.

I get dumb sh!t like that all the time. Steaks, butterflied and well done, extra well done salmon.

Although some really good ideas have come up that way too. Like blackened sea scallops.

I have a friend that ****s up his salmon every time. He gets pre marinaded pre cooked grocery store salmon and will put it in the microwave for a solid 6-7 minutes on high. His apartment will smell like fish for a week. He will always tell me what he made for dinner(he is an old retired dude and has to give me a refreshed life story update every time) and I'm just like, "Yeah dude, I know you had salmon".

This yokel will also order well done filets and feel like he is high class. I always tell him to just get a burger and save the prime cuts for someone who will appreciate them.

Once he and I went to dinner and we ordered the same thing. I think it was like a chop steak or Salisbury steak with gravy and mashed potatoes or something. He ordered his WELL done. I was clear to mention I wanted mine done regular fashion. Guess who also got a crispy ass burnt cut of cheap meat. Yeah, I did. It took so long for them to ruin our food and I was so hungry that I did t feel like waiting for another plate. I just informed him that his ****ed up taste just paid for my dinner as well.

DAYYYYYYYUUUUUUM!!! This 3120 is the real deal, such a great buy. It aint just a guitar amp, the gain channels sound good with bass, will definitely be cool to experiment with in the studio, but the clean channel is where its at, gets just gritty enough with a bass and sounds like straight up GOD with a dimed 250 in front, and by GOD I mean Al. Ran it with the 810TX tonight and that helped with kinda "boosting" the lows. Paired it with the vulcan and 218.

That's it!

I'm picking up an Ampeg 410HE tonight with the cover. A reasonable price. Not a steal or anything. This should be good enough for now.
Now I can save up for something I really want sometime this summer.

What I should really do is sell my car and get a truck or wagon. haha
Or a minivan. Take out the rear row of seats and tons of room. I can fit basically all of Catapult's gear in my car except drums. There are six of us.

Has anyone seen the new Mr. Black Fwonkbeta?

I haven't owned an envelope filter for a while and am trying to stay away from pedal buying right now but gat dayum if this hasn't struck me with insta-gas, and HARD.

I'll probably buy one after next paycheck before the sale ends.

Cool, but I don't really gas for pedals that much. Unless they're custom Dunwich.

Pretty much, light sear on the outside, raw in the middle. SO good.

I love good seafood but don't want to pay the premium to get fresh stuff in the midwest so we don't eat it a whole lot. But when I travel for work to one of the coasts, you bet your ass I'm having a vendor take me to a nice seafood place.

Edited to add: When in doubt about the best level of done-ness (ie rare, vs medium, etc) at any place half worth it's salt just ask the server what Chef recommends. Unless you're squeamish about eating less-than-well-done food, then order it however you like. You may end up with a slightly lesser cut of meat/fish if you do that, though.
I pretty much just go with medium? I guess I'm just used to "medium" also kinda meaning "the regular, average way." Is that not right? Usually with meat I just say "medium rare" as that seems to mean like, the standard way of cooking it.

I only eat the poopers of ladies I am in a very intimate sort of friendship with. And only nicely washed.

That's just sad. Who the shag orders a well done steak? Your friend is an idiot.

The sad part is that if it had been done right... salisbury steak with gravy and mashed potatoes? That sounds shaging delicious.

Rearranged the pedal board, threw on a couple of cheap ones I had laying around. Also made the important ones more accessible. 3 kinds of fuzz and up to 3 delays now. Completely impractical, but fun.
Why the three delays?

I was just discussing the 1820 and 3620 with a buddy Derek of STLs Path of Might(they rip and he has a killer tone, check em out). His old singer just scored a 3620 via GC used for $200. Shipping got refunded due to delays. I told him he's lucky a cvltist didn't swoop that ****.

I want to love Dunwich more than I do. Both boxes I've had just didn't do it for me. Cthulhu was great but I don't bode well with fuzz faces and for some reason the wizard just didn't wow me at all really. I'm still holding out for an ODB though.

RE: poopers. You and I are of the same mindset.

My buddy is an arse. We remind him all the time. Our friendship has a lot of animosity and he is a bit of a psych case but we love him nonetheless. He knows at the end of the day we are just giving him a hard time.

Some day ill find and fvck it buy a 3620. Plenty of them out there, they arent rare just uncommon. I still have that sonic one unloaded with a blown crossover but its really not the same, just the same speaker configuration, the size is way off.

So my wife and I agreed to each take a few hundred dollars from the proceeds of the sale of our house and treat ourselves.

this is what I got for myself.

2002-2004 CIJ (all my fenders are CIJ/MIJ, love them to death). PB70-US, with USA Vintage Pickups and some upgraded pots and caps and an Alder body for the price of the basswood/japanese pickup versions.

I've been looking for the right P to come along that I can throw some flat wounds on.

Now the wait, shipping from Japan shouldn't take more than 10 days though, will give me time to find a tort PG :)
