No. Go to some shows and recruit.Yesterday I had two different instances of a local drummer into heavy music never having heard of any band I was ever in or knowing who I was. They were both in their 20's and started going to shows after the last time I played one. I realized it's been 8 years since the last show of my last REAL band that did stuff regularly. Used to be I would get calls from friends who had run into someone who knew me from music when they mentioned my name in passing and I had no idea who they were, just because I've been around in bands in this area for 20 years and recording other people for 10, but never in any hugely popular bands. I did some modifications on a drum kit in our wood shop for a drummer yesterday and he asked me what band I'm in and I had to tell him I haven't been able to start anything for years, relayed a couple stories of guys flaking that I've mentioned here and he seemed flabbergasted ("wow, that's crazy unprofessional, really??). At this point I just don't even want to mention to people that I play music, tired of explaining I don't do anything and have no prospects.
Anyone wanna buy all my gear and hit me in the head with a large brick?
I'm lucky, I guess. My band ranges from like 22 to 35 in age. So we know a lot of people of various ages.
So impractical but so cool.
What's the three knob pedal? And did you get that slow volume off reverb recently by chance?
My buddies played a show with COM here in STL. I got to hang out and even party/indulge with them a bit. Cool guys.
I do not understand his bass playing though. Obviously it's all personal preference and I have a very different preference, but I just don't get picking the bass at the 12th fret. They sounded good though. They had a full orange backline.
I love plucking between 12-17 fret. I find it brings a special midrange harmonic without actually getting brighter. Big thumpy lows with a chime on top.

I usually pick right at the edge of the neck. Sometimes I drift over the last couple frets and sometimes back about halfway to the P pup. I just get sloppy as hell when I play over the neck.
My goal is to try and pick\pluck the midpoint between where I'm fretting and the pickup I'm using. For sure slop happens but with extreme gain the tonereward is high.
I usually pick a couple inches from the end of the neck. On Rickenbackers, that's right between the two pickups (though most of the time I'm using just the bridge pickup).
Any big differences between this and the most recent version?

He uses some obscure Japanese overdrive from the 80s that wasn't sold in the US, guessing it's that thing.
Church of Misery. A Japanese band that's been around since 1995. The write psychedelic doom metal tunes about serial killers. That pic is of the bassist, Tatsu Mikami and main brain behind the group. He is the only consistent member and the founder. Their new lineup is mainly consisting of Tatsu and some Americans.
His pedal reminds me of a fuzz that I had a few years back except it was orange. I can't remember the name. But the bottom plate was held on with a rubber ring. That's going to bug me now.

Just got back from first band practice with my 'new' head... turns out there's been an escalation in the sonic arms race between bass and guitar as one of our guitarists is now running two half stacks instead of just the one, after playing through our first song our drummer complained that he couldn't hear himself... i guess there's a first time for everything

Didn't really use that slow volume pedal, but now I see someone use it and want to hear how they use it/gas for no reason.

I'm picking up an Ampeg 410HE tonight with the cover. A reasonable price. Not a steal or anything. This should be good enough for now.
Now I can save up for something I really want sometime this summer.
What I should really do is sell my car and get a truck or wagon. haha
