Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Heyyyyyy

I aspire to someday make better decisions about food consistently.

Me too. I eat like poopie. Usually too tired to cook so I eat a lot of gas station food. It's killing my income and I feel unhealthy.

My Sunn is in the shop for a retube, cable swap and to have the death cap/polarity switch eliminated. They guys loved to see it. They said their tech had a priority repair due to an unresolved issue, but that my amp may get bumped to next in line simply because he will probably be stoked to work on it.

Deltas are out for delivery. Hopefully I'll be able to get them installed before tonight's practice.

That's all I got for now.

Sunn Beta in action at a basement dive bar MDT set last night. Good stuff. Was serious about selling this but it's too useful as my "small" rig and I'm starting to love its grindiness.

I was curious to see if my migraines are from low blood sugar from not eating regularly and not eating healthy enough. It didn't help the migraines but I seem to be losing weight and the low glycemic index diet is pretty easy to follow. 3 healthy meals and two to three healthy snacks a day. Finally learned how to cook and doctor up quinoa properly too. I hereby take back my hatred toward quinoa lol.

quinoa.... I know how to cook, and I can doctor that up... Still not high on my list of food to eat.

I don't do anything fancy with it, but making it in the rice cooker keeps if fluffy. Also cooking it in beef or chicken broth with some soul food seasoning gives me an alternative to white rice plus the protein in it satiates me much faster than rice too.

I am the primary cook and grocery shopper for my household, I'm pretty good at acquiring and preparing fairly healthy freshy veggy lowish-carb food from scratch. It's just when I'm out in the wild... the aforementioned better decisions about food must be made in the same world that also contains chimichangas... and donuts... and the Golden Hong Kong Super Buffet....

I hear ya on the go, what is helping me is my digestive tract makes me pay much more than when I was young when I make unhealthy bad decisions. I learned to hit up the salad bar or get a 1/4 pound of lunch meat sliced at the deli and some fruit and/or nuts, either at Walmart or some grocery store. Doesn't take that much longer than going to a fast food joint and then I don't feel lousy after eating junk food. Plus there is always chili at Wendy's.

Wait, so a diet of Ramen, Kielbasa, and Kraft Dinner isn't healthy?

But in reality I've been working on a better diet. Breakfast now consists of a protein shake, "lunch" (graze on it throughout the day) is usually 1/4 cup of almonds, 2 string cheese, Banana, apple (sometimes I buy lunch out, either proper style Tacos or Pho), and then dinner I try to keep under 600 calories, usually high protein/lower carbs, though I do love me some ramen with spinach and soft boiled eggs. Finally starting to drop some weight and gain muscle mass.

Man, how DOOM is diet and exercise!? MUCH DOOM.
