Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

used a friend's tascam digital 8 track to record, cause the thought of buying a new laptop, interface, and di made me kind of nauseus, i was struck by the fact that when i play live all three of my basses sound pretty much the same, but with the tascam they all sounded distinctly different, got a nice super clean pianoish fingerstyle tone with the LB100 that sounded like nation of ulysses, so i was really pleased, three of my students that already failed the class once didn't even show today

The older I get the more I like those multitrack recorders. I've owned a couple Yamaha ones. I think I'm going to be one of those technology hating old people.

Just ordered the DSOM Deluxe so looking forward to trying it out in the mix.
From what I understand Matt is adding a boost mod that JohnK worked up for the blower box to the new unit's.
A new one may be worth a shot.
I'm thinking of asking Matt to add the boost circuit and a switch on my V1 to have both options. Never seemed to work in the mix for me so it's not on my mini board any longer.
Not a huge priority since my main always on pedals have been the Gamma Drive and Hail Satan Deluxe... Been pretty happy with this for a year now.

Not on your list but MXR M85 is KILLER. Collaboration between Ryan from Fuzzrocious and MXR. LED and Silicon Clipping, dry and wet volume knobs for lots of blending options, tons of low end - so much that you don't need the blend if you don't want to use it and in internal trim pot to adjust the LED clipping. I love the freakin thing. There's a few in the classifieds for $80 right now.

****. I seemed to have acquired a spider bite at some point friday night. Small little nib that I had thought was a pimple on friday was apparently more than that. Saturday my arm was so swollen it looked broken. Same little nib, but now on a mound of inflammation close to the center of a clearly defined red ring about 2.5-3" in diameter. Sunday the swelling had gone down but the redness had grown in size. At that point I realized that it was likely a spider bite. I figured that it had been over 24 hours, if it was serious I would have known by then. Well, today the red ring is even larger and that little red pimple looking nib is now blackish brown. The spot is tiny. I'm not all that concerned but I have a feeling I came into contact with a brown recluse somehow. REALLY hoping that the spot is more brown like dried blood than necrosis black. Arm is pretty achy and the spot hurts a fair amount when it comes into contact with anything. The red ring, though fainter, is now covering the majority of the outside of my forearm.

I have a doctor appointment scheduled for Thursday. Im not really sure if I should cancel that and just go to urgent care tomorrow.
