If it has a power amp in, I'm not sure why not. I'm actually stoked to use the cl400 as a slave amp. It sounds killer by itself, but running a preamp and my signal through the effects loop would also be sweet.
Been considering putting my effects in the preamp loop of the VTRM. I don't have much screwaround time during practice days with this rig.
Scheduled to stuff the Subaru motor back in the car this Sunday. Picking up some last materials on the way to practice.

Ha ha, Stone Witch! They're local to me, but I've never seen them. I keep missing them because being new, they usually go on first, and I'm still like reading bedtime stories and singing lullabies and stuff and by the time I get out of the house, they're done. I think I've seen them loading out their gear at least twice. Now that they've gotten some recordings done I should check them out.
Landing in SEA tomorrow for two weeks vacation with the fam in the PNW, sweet relief from the heat. Can't wait.

I had a pedal building revelation last night. I noticed the depth knob on a magic built Dunwich pedal and suddenly understood how the 6PDT rotary switches work and how to wire them off board. This means rotary depth and clipping selectors are within my capability. Time to start planning a trial build. Super excited about future builds.
So.... Pharaoh Supreme? (Can't think of any other pedals with rotary options.)
Pharaoh supreme, the Lone Wolf Plague Doctor is a rat with rotary clipping(I have one on being built and I'm super pumped.)
Really that mod could be applied to anything with clipping diodes. OCD, rats, DOD250, TS, muffs, etc.
The depth mod could also be applied, but I haven't toyed with it enough to know which circuits would really benefit.
The next pedal I am doing is built on a pharaoh board with added depth knob, 1st and second stage clipping a la Iron Fist and a clean blend. Haven't decided if I want the input gain of the pharaoh on a toggle or knob yet.
picked this up about 4 months ago. been waiting for a good time to watch it. my wife and son are gone for a few days and i got the place to myself so my mind is being blown right now.

actually practiced a little yesterday and i'm thinking if we can keep the bpms down to an absolute minimum that i can use the L2000 into the moog delay with the mesa d180 for some super thick and bassy doom work on the slow songs, i'm about to leave for big bear and lake arrowhead to shoot more photos, have a great sunday guys, the acid king cover is coming along really nicely and so is the dr octagon one, playing extremely lightly is giving me a woolier tone that sounds sweet with the guitar

So the depth knob is on a rotary? Not just a smooth knob? So does it set various distinct depths, like a mid switch selector or something? I'm clearly a soldering plebeian.
You can do it either way. The rotary uses a capacitor at each switch position to determine the amount of low end going in to Q1(or Q4 depending on how it's labeled). When using a pot, a pair of capacitors are used to determine the minimum and maximum range of the pot. That amount is also determined by the value of the pot. I'm not sure of the math on how to figure that value, I'm more or less researching a starting point and operating off trial and error. I'm using the Kitrae schematic for the super collider to add the depth knob and it uses a B150K pot so that's my starting point.
The pedal is an amalgam of my favorite muff clones. It's based off of the pharaoh, with the depth control of the super collider, the 1st/2nd stage clipping switches of the LWA Iron Fist and the clean blend of the pharaoh supreme(/super collider). I'm building it mostly to civil war spec similar to the grey Stache.
What clean blend on the Pharaoh? There's no mix/blend knob. Or is it the the fuzz knob? I had always assumed it was a gain knob, not a blend, though I could certainly be wrong.
Regardless, that muff you're building sounds amazing. Had a Super Collider for a while, and it killed. Just a little too trebles and fizzy for me. If I could get some different clipping options, I'd probably still have it. Good luck with the build, and I hope you realize we'll all want clips...
I thought the pharaoh supreme had a clean blend. I could be mistaking it for the HSD though. The pharaoh and supercollider are both Rams head muffs fwiw.
As for clips we'll see. I have the tools to do it, but am beyond ignorant of the software. Just can't seem to figure that puzzle out. However you sir would obviously be able to hear it in the flesh. We need to get together before your spawn arrives and your time diminishes.
Agreed. And I can actually do basic recording stuff! And you must be thinking of the HSD (another fuzz I've wanted to try). I didn't know they were both Ram's Heads, but I'm always happy to learn new stuff.
