Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Oof, summerfest load out today, 7 stages of big, professional backline, including drums. Moved Ampeg, Fender and Orange 8x10s. Fender was by far the lightest, thinner wood and neodymium drivers. Middle weight was CL series Ampeg, heaviest by far was Orange. Their 1+ inch boardstock is overkill, IMO. Also, orange tolex looks great at first but man, it gets dirty quick and shows every last bit of dirt, grease, smudges, fingerprints, etc. The black tolex products were just as dirty, but looked much better.
Bassman 300 is lighter than the SVTCL, but not by much. All in all a good day, a bit long at 12 hours in the heat and humidity but it still beat sitting in the office.

Hmm cant find a frequency response of those. Not sure how they will sound, @BbbyBld might have some insight.
There are louder drivers out there for sure.
Orange does stupid things in the design of their cabs IMO. Engineering by looks and superstition IMHO. Their "Most advanced" cab uses tech 50 years old that has been considered laughable by every major speaker manufacturer for most of that time.
"Hey look at this cab, it uses super heavy (and cheap) wood so it must also sound heavy. Oh and we crammed double the speakers in to too small of a cab. So you will pay for two, get the sound of one, and carry the weight of three!"
Pallbearer and Mars Red Sky are a couple of standouts for what you're after.
I sold off one of my OBC410s, the other lives in my basement. It's harder to move than my fridge. I may sell the second one off some day.

They came with it lol and if I peel them I'll need to goo gone them to keep the sticky from collecting pet hair.
So until then I'm keeping it stock for that "elementary school music class of '86" vibe.
Just added the Boss RV-2 to the mix. Damn this thing gets fun. I can just hold one note and adjust knobs and turn it into so many things. Can't wait to add a dedicated dirt, micro synth, looper and other accoutrements.

Btw the cab is absolutely massive, makes the ol LH1000 really sound huge. Now for fuzz that doesn't suck

Ghost echo is still my favorite verb.
Nah, it's one of their early boss clones. It was CHEAP. The blue one is a clone of the Line 6 Verbzilla, which has way more sounds/options than the boss clone but like I said, it was cheap.
Nope. Mine stays true to what I feed it with. Maybe my levels are just lower than yours, but some of them are set pretty high. Maybe email Jack. Mine gets a bit of a pop at first but that goes away. Easily my favorite reverb.
Also the lm308 mod was super easy. Just add a 30pf between pins 1 and 8.

Yeah, its way more noticable wheb im droning and using my pedal synth. i feel like mine kinda gets muddy too, but this is comparing it to the ghost echo. TBH when i got bt, i was a little bit dissappointed, everyone says its the best/their favorite verb forever ever but i like my ghost echo better. That delayed attack knob is where its at.

Univibe WITH an expression pedal to control speed. EHX came out with one recently. There's so many clones that don't have an expression pedal input, might as well just get a chorus pedal.
