Anyone every run an octave pedal into an octave pedal? Wondered if I could get really low synth sounds.

Also how low can my bassic and dually go so I don't blow my speakers?

tremolo or univibe?

Univibe WITH an expression pedal to control speed. EHX came out with one recently. There's so many clones that don't have an expression pedal input, might as well just get a chorus pedal.

Marshall regenerator univibe setting is great, gotta get that expression pedal locally so I control it as well.

I missed a chance at a BBE tremor, no idea if it's good on bass, but I like the double speed settings.

Can't say I've ever used a univibe on a bass (though I would really like to), but with a guitar, absolutely Univibe. As said, an expression pedal is an absolute necessity. Are you looking for like completely chopped? Or rounded throb pulses?

Tremolo works on the volume of your overall signal. Strong square wave tremolo is on/off volume and very strong pulses.

The univibe is a phaser of sorts and so its got more rounded slightly swirled pulse and I don't think it gets completely on/off but it gets very seasick in its own right.

Yeah, its way more noticable wheb im droning and using my pedal synth. i feel like mine kinda gets muddy too, but this is comparing it to the ghost echo. TBH when i got bt, i was a little bit dissappointed, everyone says its the best/their favorite verb forever ever but i like my ghost echo better. That delayed attack knob is where its at.

I think the cabs are tuned to 37hz and the faitals can go to 35hz. Just watch the speakers for huge excursion and fart.

I think vibrato pedals actually modulate the frequencies whereas tremolo pedals pulse the frequency.

Oh and univibe =/= vibrato

Univibe was a pedal circuit attempt to recreate the sound of a Leslie cab.

Vibrato is true pitch shifting. A manual analog example is a strats "tremolo" bar as it truly bends your pitch.

Well Trem is just volume, up and down, like is shown here when clean:



A univibe is more of a phasing effect. It also has both a Chorus and Vibrator setting, though as far as I know, they aren't really straight chorus and vibrato either way. Hendrix and Trower used the chorus setting AFAIK. It has a very lush, syrupy, throb to it. A trem I would say pulses, a univibe throbs, a vibrato wobbles. I prefer the vibe because it sounds so thick, but it might not be what you're after.

I use this strictly for fast steady beat pulses. From 3/4 on to full dimed but mostly fully dimed. It does the super fast wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh thing with the last note played. Not choppy like a tremolo or floaty like a phaser once you got passed three quarters on. Of course the picture I took when I got it shows the total opposite way I set it.
Dirt cheap used too.

Your cabs are tuned between 50-55hz.

Went back to listen to this again, its kind of like hearing Troy from Mastodon sing over High on Fire. I'm diggin it, if we ever end up that way i hope we can play together. Though i feel like your guitarist suffers the same problem mine does, they cant do a solo without going into full shred mode, I was into it through the tasty bends but his shreddy part sounded real muddy on this recording.

Thanks for the ins words amigo! You're probably right about my guitarist. I usually just zone out on my own playing during solos, so I don't really ever listen to them.

It was recorded on an iPhone though. I'm stoked to hear his shredz on the record.

Orange does stupid things in the design of their cabs IMO. Engineering by looks and superstition IMHO. Their "Most advanced" cab uses tech 50 years old that has been considered laughable by every major speaker manufacturer for most of that time.

"Hey look at this cab, it uses super heavy (and cheap) wood so it must also sound heavy. Oh and we crammed double the speakers in to too small of a cab. So you will pay for two, get the sound of one, and carry the weight of three!"

I would think that their most advanced designs were their 1x15 cabs, which are just a TL606 ripoff. Not that that's a bad thing, as it's a decent design.

Also, 1" boardstock? Holy crap, that's ridiculous.

Just added the Boss RV-2 to the mix. Damn this thing gets fun. I can just hold one note and adjust knobs and turn it into so many things. Can't wait to add a dedicated dirt, micro synth, looper and other accoutrements.
